Other than looking funny and like a 50's Barbie, these little tools work very well once you get the hang of it.
I recommend using them with wet here as it's easier to roll up without strays, but you can also use them with dry hair. Leave them in for the day or use a diffuser and you'll be left with great curls/waves and lots of volume.
