There are several things I like about this, it integrates well with my phone, with the wifi, and with the existing myQ garage door opener. But, it's available elsewhere for half the price - I just bought a second for less than the cost of a second battery.

Wifi setup was challenging and the issue is known but not in the manual. If you have special characters in your password it will not connect, BUT, it just says "incorrect" or "wrong" password, no clue as to error. I changed multiple encryption types, no dice, then found a post online (reddit?) with the solution. Put this in your notes or your FAQ or your manual and you'll save users a lot of aggravation. If the myQ box works with special characters, and the website accepts it as a password, the door opener should, too. Also, the password and app integration should be able to be migrated from within the app, no need to go outside to set up again if properly engineered from a UI perspective.

Now on to the battery. Who in their right mind puts a screw at the bottom of the battery compartment, that is TINY, and that you have to remove and replace to charge the battery? I lost it in the driveway while installing, and the device doesn't stay in the housing very well without it. I bought some thin velcro strips to use to connect the device and housing.

Finally, my Honda Pilot has a new integration with CarPlay. It shows up in CarPlay, but it isn't functioning with an alert when I get close to the house as it says it can. I assume I've made a mistake in setup, but I haven't found the solution yet.

All in all - great idea, poor execution, still probably better than the cheap keypads that you can use otherwise.

When I saw this garage camera, I knew it would solve the issue of knowing who was trying to get into my garage by using the garage number pad outside. This outside garage camera not only opens your garage door but captures video on who is pushing the buttons and you can talk to whoever is in the camera view. You can input several number combinations and assign the persons names. The person outside the camera can hit the "call you" button and talk to you. This camera is the one you need. Its like having a doorbell camera for your garage door. Install was easy and if you already have a garage door pad, the install holes are already there. I would purchase an additional camera battery so you can exchange the battery without any camera downtime. If you read the directions step by step, you can't go wrong and it was fairly easy to configure the camera and get it working. As soon as someone steps in front of the camera, it becomes live and starts recording. The camera is crystal clear in day or night. The price of the camera for what it does is well worth it.

The myQ Smart Garage Door Video Keypad with Wide-Angle Camera is replacing an old keypad that only opened and closed my garage door..... sometimes. So it's not only a big upgrade to just open my garage door, but it has several features. The one touch close is really what I use a lot. When I come back from walking my dog at night, a touch on any button lights it up. The keys are very responsive with a positive feel. I like I can add different codes for someone that may need to open the door. It sends me a message through the myQ app and tells me who opened the door. Speaking of the app. I've had the myQ door opener controller for some time. This keypad works in conjunction with the opener controller. The only thing is that there is now a banner across the top of the display when I open the app. There use to be a nice big button for me to touch, now it's a lot smaller. If the banner was gone it would be a great trade off to have the camera display above the button. And the camera.. It's clear with a very good picture day or night. It's pretty nice to add just another camera around my house. The two way talk is about as good as any other device that offers that ability. You do definitely want to order a second battery. It takes a bit of time to charge. It's very simple to remove and install the battery. The install, both mounting on the wall and the app, was very easy.

Easy install but functionality is a little less then what was expected. The keypad only controls a single garage door! My old keypad was able to control both of my doors and I expected this to be able to do the same. I was told by a customer service person that this functionality may be available later but not now because it was such a new item. I'm hoping there will be an update to allow for opening two garage doors with the keypad (note, a second door is controllable through the app). Battery doesn't last very long and glad I purchased a spare for a quick change because the battery takes up to 10 hrs to charge. Lastly, it would be nice to have a more secure way of anchoring the keypad into the base. It's a simple philips screw, which makes it a little TOO easy to be remove/stolen. Maybe a more unique method, like a keypad code to, somehow, release the keypad from the base? I do like the easily usable keypad, camera functionality and ease of entry to the one door I can open with the keypad.

Easy to install. Took less than 5 minutes and worked perfectly. We have a Chamberlain Quiet door opener and I purchased a universal remote from a big box store and the unit never consistently worked. Took it back and purchased this one.
No complaints! Works great every time.
