Easy to use - all plastic trays

Very simple easy to use steamer. Basically a set of plastic trays placed ontop of each other with several selectable modes for the different foods you want to steam. Everything is time-based. Plug in power. Fill with water and let it steam - just stay away from the steam when in use. Makes some noise when steaming but workable. Is alternative to stove-top steamers.

For those on a gluten-free diet, this 3-tier steamer is quite handy to bake with recipes that primarily use cornstarch, rice flour, tapioca flour/starch, or potato starch. It's also convenient for steaming large portions for a big family like mine. Or for multiple different steamed dishes. I cooked white rice with this using a standard-sized pie tin. I had to pull the pie tin's lid up in order to make it fit into the flat white mesh bottom. As well as to deepen the pie tin to accommodate the water I added to steam the rice. It needs 2-tiers to do so in order to put this steamer's clear lid on. The little manual it came with gives enough directions. Once I turned on the Power button, I pushed on Modes button until the light was on the Rice button (see pic). Then, I waited the 3 seconds until it automatically started the steaming process. The digital time and the quiet hissing sound let me know that it's in the steaming mode. Once it reached its time limit, it automatically turned off the steaming process. I waited about 5 minutes to let the rice steam a little bit more. It made perfectly cooked rice.
