It is great for both hot and cold water and does not take a lot of energy to run. It dispenses quickly and we have had zero issues with functionality. lt is a bit noisy when heating and cooling water which is the only negative. Don't expect to put a cup on the dispenser tray as it is very thin. You will have to hold whatever cup or bottle you are using while you are dispensing water.
