I ordered these for my 9 year old while we were partying on our annual "dude's weekend" and I think this has been the best drunken order I have ever made. My 9 year old can get a little wild with his weaponry, but this is one of those toys I have no problem getting out of hand with with, because there's 2 swords. This isn't like your typical licensed toy, it does have some physical differences, like being more of a pointed sword than a round light saber. It also has different colors you can cycle through, and an option to keep it flashing like strobe light while playing with it. The sword extends by flicking it out, and holding a very sturdy button on the top of the handle, and collapses in by pressing that button as well. The swords also charge via USB-C which is fantastic, no need to worry about finding and swapping out batteries. The one negative thing about these swords is that you can't shut off the sound, but even then, they're a lot of fun. I don't think it's emphasized enough, but you can actually connect both swords at the handles to make 1 long double-sided sword, with either matching color lights or different lights. I haven't been able to sit through any of the star wars movies, but I am totally down with the sabers. A must get for enthusiasts.

These swords each come in their own boxes. The sword itself is plastic and the handle has sharp interesting angles in the design. The "blade" is a telescoping plastic that pops out of a latch door. It's totally retractable which is one of its coolest features. These are a great addition to a costume or a gift for a kid who likes any type of swords.

These are an interesting take on the lightsaber. My four year old loves them, so that's pretty much the only piece that matters. As far as sabers go, these are a bit of a different take that have some cool features. They are more light swordish, as oposed to true light saber hilt. Couple unique aspects that make these very cool. One, the loop. This allows for some impressive blade swinging. Two, the connectivity between the two. You can connect these to have a dual blade saber akin to Darth Maul. They can also be operated independently for dual wielding. Both have fun controls to change color, add lightning effects. The retraction with the closing lid is also a nice touch. Definitely a fun toy for your star wars loving youngling.
