Long stem makes it easier to read temp

Thermometer works great. The long stem is a plus when using in our deep fryer. Only reason for a 4 star rating is clip needed a little adjustment for our speciality fryer.
Works fine with Dutch oven
DJB✓ Verified Purchase•May 25, 2017
First use - only use so far - was to make bread in camp in a 12" Dutch oven. Temp at 400 F. Our DO has a thermometer notch and this thermometer fit perfectly. The temps measured were as expected from the numbers of coals we used. The bread turned out wonderfully and we will use this thermometer again.
Works great for wood stove readings...

This works great on my wood stove for keeping eye on temerature of stove. Im sure it works great for meat too. Tempearature gauge gets very high.
Nice thermometer for deep frying...

Great read and accurate. Used it for deep frying my turkey on Thanksgiving and monitoring the oil temperature. Would recommend.
Unreliable and dangerous
BT San Diego✓ Verified Purchase•November 21, 2016
Danger! This thermometer stopped reading the temp once it reached 350 degrees! Ruined our work's prethanksgiving feast turkey! We took the temp of the oil with another thermometer and it read almost 500 degrees! Super dangerous.
