Works, but very chunky
Amazon Customer•May 4, 2017
It etches glass, but for some reason there are huge crystals all over inside. These chunks make applying it evenly near impossible. If I was doing crafts, this would be a 1 star review. I just wanted to rough up some glass, so I am giving 3 star. I don't feel 5 star is warranted because I am unable to let my wife use the remainder for crafts.
It works on glasses to remove the clear coat
NWA•May 1, 2017
It works to clean the clear coat / anti glare coating from my glasses. I was able to restore a couple pair of glasses using this. It was not able to take the auto darking from the glasses but there was nothing wrong with that anyway. So I did not try after the clear coating came off.
this is the stuff to get that garbage, disintegrating film off your glasses
Amazon Customer•March 15, 2017
Yep, this is the stuff to get that garbage, disintegrating film off your glasses. Knock them against your teeth once to verify they are plastic (will be a dull clack if they are, more of a ring if they are actual glass) and grab some of this to revitalize those plastic lenses.
Few things: This WILL strip the paint from your frames and WILL burn if you get it on you, even diluted. Be EXTREMELY careful.
Put on some gloves, grab a handful of qtips and just rub this stuff over the trouble areas. Leave it sit for a while, then rinse it clean. I wish I had known about this before trying to just scrape the stuff off. I would have saved a lot of scratches. Still, my eyeglasses are entirely usable again and I can put off replacing them for another year.
Good luck!

Recommended or not THIS is what you need to remove clouded over anti glare coatings on your expensive glasses lenses!
I had two pair, the later pair to replace the earlier pair because of the cloudy coating so I had nothing to lose by trying.
Your optometrist won't tell you this and there is perhaps ONE video on the internet showing how this is properly done.
Don't allow skin contact with this stuff!
I used a small water color paint brush to apply the solution to both sides of the lenses. Brush it around for a bit and then rinse under warm water.
You may have to do this 3-4 times but when you're finished you will have sparkly clear lenses.
You will have to adjust to a bit of glare here and there but for an $8 investment I'll take it!

Saved me big money. The ar coating on my glasses became spotty on one lens and difficult to see thru. A trip to LensCrafters was disappointing because they claimed only way to fix was to buy a new Lens. I googled it and found this works on polycarbonate lenses. I'll get a few more years out of them!
