I never write reviews, but I have to say how much I am pleased. What a great beginner metal detector for the money. I utilized this on the beach in dense and soft sand ranging from 1.5-8"

What to expect:

A small shovel and dirt strainer (make sure you order one so you get all of them at the same time, you will need it).

Water (personal hydration); I must have walked 5 miles before I even knew it.

First item found was a large fishing hook about 1.5 inches down in soft sand (this is why you use a small shovel to dig).

All other items were found 4-8" down in denser more packed sand.

I didn't get to "tune" in the trash setting so I can't comment. I will update once I have time to play with it.

The feel/quality and grip feels a bit plasticy...but again, you have to have some expectation with the great price.

Head phones are a bit cheap feeling as well, but I used a set I had laying around and they plugged right it.

Bang for the buck is right here. Creates a great first time experience for the newbie. Already looking forward to the next level.

Bought this for my kid and I to have to some fun in the back yard. We mostly found nails, foil (yes, if you don't have the trash knob turned up, you can find foil), and some spare change. The biggest surprises were the missing wedding ring and a valuable necklace the wife didn't realize she was missing until we found it. All of these objects were less than two inches of a dig, so not sure how far it can detect. Overall, for the price, it's a great way to get the kids out for a good old treasure hunt. Easy to assemble, fun to use. Worth every cent after finding those long lost valuables.

So I lost 3 rings in my yard over the last year. I thought I would try a metal detector. Found this one for a great price. I received it today. It was easy to put together and I immediately started using it. In 1 hour I found all 3 of my rings! My 12 year old stayed and used it another hour after that. Its light weight and on point! I love this metal detector!

We bought this solely to find my engagement ring which had slipped off while I was waving goodbye to a friend in my driveway. Since it happened at night, I couldn't see where it landed. My husband and I spent two days searching the heavy grass and large bushes nearby in the freezing cold without any real success, so we were pretty disheartened by the time this guy arrived. But, less than 30 minutes after we took this out to the yard, we found my ring. I can't speak to its use in anything else, but it served its purpose for us very quickly. I am very happy with this purchase.

I bought this metal detector to help me find arrows lost while target shooting. If you've ever shot arrows at a target, you know what I mean. They can sneak themselves in just under the grass and disappear in an instant.

The box was much smaller than I expected. No big deal - you just have to put it together, takes all of 5 minutes. I took it outside, turned it on, and began to sweep the ground. SUCCESS! After just a minute or two, I found the arrow I was looking for. Flush with my newfound skills as an arrow hunter, I decided to try and locate any other arrows that I know I've lost in the same area over the years. SUCCESS AGAIN! After just a few minutes of sweeping the ground, I found an arrow that I know went missing last year. I know there are more out there, and maybe I will get around to sweeping the whole area. For now, I am more than happy with this metal detector. It has earned a permanent home and is kept right next to my bows.
