Fits in the palm of your hand, is very easy to use, and seems to have a very large vocabulary.

One of the great things about electronic dictionaries in general is that you can type in a verb conjugate and find it whereas in a paper dictionary you'll never find it.

E.g., if the word you're looking for is "voy" (I go), the electronic dictionary will link it to "ir," the infinitive, whereas you won't find it at all in the paper dictionary.

I'm using this right now to read Spanish-language newspapers online and it makes translations of articles extremely fast and convenient.

I also bring this to my Spanish-language group meetups and while listening to a conversation I can quickly type in a word that I don't know and have the meaning in a matter of seconds.

Highly recommended.

I looked at every single electronic translator on Amazon and read about one hundred reviews of the different translators and no other item had more consistent reviews, and the only review under 3 stars for this item is irrelevant because the person complains the screen is dark. He doesn't even mention quality of using the item.

I used this item first when I saw a friend of mine using it while we were studying in Spain for a semester(I am currently here in Spain until May 16). I found this to very easy to use. It contained about 90-95% of the words I needed, and living with a host family, I need it all the time. For the price of what you pay, you are getting a great deal, and I wouldn't even bother looking at any other items on Amazon or other sites when it comes to electronic translators. As for the downloadable content, I am still waiting to try it out for myself to see if it worth it.

Some things you can't find in this great item are curse words and other slang, but that is not something that is necessarily in every electronic translator or in every dictionary as things tend to get censored in the U.S.

Overall, this is a great product at a great price!

I really like the content of this thing so far, but the problem is that I usually use it outdoors, and you can barely read it there, for some reason. I thought the battery was low after I tried to use it in my car, which is where I listen to my Spanish lessons. However, when I took it indoors and turned it on before replacing the battery, it was nice and bright there and easy to read again. Then back out in the car, later that day, I can't read the screen AT ALL. Not sure what the problem is, but so far I don't see a button or option to alter the screen to make it more visible.

This handy little English/Spanish electronic dictionary was invaluable during my two week Spanish Immersion School in Costa Rica. I lived with a local family who didn't speak English and I hardly spoke Spanish. This helped us both bridge the gap. Even the children in the family would use it to find a word I could understand.

In classes, it was a quick way to find a word I needed and it gave me all the variances of that word. I was the envy of my class.

I used a lot of the extra features as well - converters, calculator, clock, games, and others.

I do wish that the screen was not so dark. It's really hard to see unless the lighting is fairly bright. I also wish that it had more words in it, both in English and Spanish. Sometimes I just couldn't find a word they were using in class and it was frustrating.

I ended up leaving this with my host family and now I need to order another.

I purchased 4 of these for everyone's Xmas gift. They were very well received. One of them was for me. I love having this little guy close by when I am reading. Also, in my purse when I am out and want to look up something fast. It's great for those vocabulary debates you have concerning definitions. It works well and considering how portable it is the set up is nice. Lots of info at my fingertips. It comes with much more stuff than the item description. It has info on grammer, punctuation, spelling possibilities, games, SAT lessons, Thes and Dictionary, Bible info, and more. The fact that I can pop in a second cartridge for languages and other educational info makes it a real dynamo. I recommend this as a great means for keeping your brain quick and learning. My only complaint is the screen doesn't light up, but the screen is easy to read without if you have lighting available. I really recommend this as a educational tool.
