Don't Buy These Pieces of Crap!

Biggest hunk of crap, and total waste of time.
If you previous got a good working one, than your blessed by several guardian angels!
First one I ordered was returned because it lacked any installation wiring schematics.
The replacement also had no schematics, but I found a PDF download online.
This is REQUIRED, because of all the bells and whistles in this remote start/ alarm system.
It is a very tough install, I believe the installation and schematic manual was 43 pages long.

After many many hours of wiring, it wound up having a totally dead CPU.
It gave one chirp, and that was the end of its life.
Of course I checked all fuses, and double and triple checked my wiring! Everything on my end was good.
Amazon sent me a third replacement, since the wiring was in; I figured just replace the CPU box.
This one did not even give me one chirp, like the previous one.
BTW: I did use the newer remote, that was assigned to this new CPU.
I now officially give up on ALL Alert products, and recommend you stay clear of them!!!!
I am no slouch at installing this things, I am a retired electrical engineer.
I supplement my income installing alarms and remote start systems from my home garage.
I have never had any problems like this before.
I bought this alarm for my personal Toyota 4Runner, since it had so many built in options.
Now I have to spend more time removing all the wiring, from this Class F piece of S_IT.
AS an FYI: My second unit said PASS 0408 on the tag, and my third unit said PASS 0407.
I am wondering if these meant April of 2007 and 2008, since some remotes had dead batteries.

THIS ALARM IS AWSOME...PARTS ARE QUALITY MADE..ALARM IS VERY LOUD..CAN BE SET VERY SENSITIVE IF YOU DONT EVEN WANT PEOPLE TOUCHING YOUR RIDE..AND WORKS PERFECT...BUT I HAD TO HAVE IT INSTALLED..COST ME $200..IT WAS $350 FOR A VIPER ALARM WITH ALL THE STUFF THIS ONE HAS..IT IS NOT FOR BEGINNERS THOUGH..IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING OR KNOW SOMEBODY WHO WILL INSTALL IT CHEAP THIS A GREAT BUY...COMPLICATED INSTRUCTIONS BUT DOES EXPLAIN EVERYTHING IN DETAIL...THIS ALARM HAS ALOT OF FEATURES..I DONT EVEN USE OR CARE ABOUT HALF OF THEM...BUT NICE TO HAVE ANYWAYS IF I FEEL LIKE USING THEM...HOPE THIS REVIEW HELPS OUT
