Delivered quickly, decent quality and works well. I have two electric chainsaws to cut timber for turning and other small woodwork projects. This fixture makes it easy and fast to sharpen at the correct angles to keep the saws working efficiently. While the Granberg will also file the depth gauges I found it easier to use a separate depth-gauge tool for that task. There are many instructional videos on the 'net demonstrating how to use this fixture if you need them. It's a bonus that it's manufactured in the USA.

If you use your chainsaw as much as I do, you need this. This guide, once you get the "knack" for using it makes sharpening your chains a snap. I get as many as 6 uses out of a chain using this. Using the ol' file "guide" thing I didn't get near the success of using this.

Combined with a stump vice, I can work out in the field all day without worrying about needing a chain replacement.

This & the stump vice are essential pieces in my field toolbox.

I read several of the reviews before I ordered, and I would especially like to thank the customer who wrote a review and included a YouTube video demonstrating how to use it. The video was very informative and is probably what sold me. This is a great product , and it does exactly what its supposed to. I used to think that I knew how to sharpen a chain but I didn't. The Granberg sharpening guide sets the right angle and pitch on the chain and gets all of the teeth evenly sharp. Check out the YouTube video and see this in action.

Bought this as a gift for my son because, of all available, this one was not plastic. Also, there were very, very good reviews with detailed descriptions of use, so I copied them out to include with my gift. This seems like equipment he will have to use for many years to come.

If you take your time to read the instructions several times then watch a few u-tube videos you will master this awesome tool in no time. I've sharpened a bunch of newly worn chains on many saws and refurbished old ones that have accumulated over the years, with exact precision. I wish that I had one of these decades ago!
No BS, it actually works if you can understand written instructions. Please be sure to look up the saw/chain manufacturer specs for re-sharpening their chains. File angle, depth of file cut, etc. Practice on a junk chain (in fully functioning safe condition) then run it on your saw.
I would suggest buying a guide link file and file gauge (8 bucks or less) along with this tool simply because its easier to quickly manually file the half moon lead links before setting up the tooth sharpening guide. I'm sure somebody with more experience using this great tool will disagree with me but I found what most efficiently works for me...
