Received this set today in perfect condition not a single chip or crack. The print is absolutely beautiful. Makes me want to buy one more set for additional guests. My only issue is that the mugs I received are not as in the picture. They are a totally different shape and style. Look cheap not as elegant as the photo shaped mugs. I Informed amazon chat care about this. I hope when I purchase another set I get the mugs as in the photos.

I ordered January 2018 and all my pieces are made in England (even the mugs.) I ordered two sets, and both arrived in perfect condition and are excellent quality. A great value!

I ordered two of this set of dishes. We always wanted them and we were excited about it. They arrived in two days which was amazing. However, the sets were not as pictured. The salad plates are actually bread and butter plates, they are 7.5 inches with maybe 4.75 inches of actual eating surface due to them being indented like a saucer. Very small for a "salad" plate. The cups were also wrong. The ones we received were a taller with sort of a fluted top and the handle was sort of squared at a weird angle. They all arrived in perfect condition and were packaged very well. I called Amazon and the woman I spoke to made exchanging the cups a very complicated ordeal. I returned both sets and will keep looking. Its a shame because we really like this style of plates and have wanted them for a long time. We are disappointed to say the least. At least the issue was reported so that Amazon knows there is a problem with this set as it is advertised, so maybe they will get the right picture so people know what they're buying. I'm also guessing that Spode knows they put this set together for a "special deal" and hope that most people won't complain or return them.

Spode Blue Italian has been a favourite pattern since my childhood because my parents collected it, and it appeared on our table only on very special occasions, such as birthdays and Christmas. I inherited my mother's Blue Italian when she died, and I greatly appreciate her set, but I needed to enlarge it to 12 place settings. Blue Italian is an old pattern"”it celebrated its 200th year in 2016"”and it has had subtle changes since it first appeared, although the basic pattern has never changed. My new 12-piece set is as lovely as my mother's older pieces (purchased in the 1930s). The main difference between her pieces and mine is the thickness of the china"”hers were somewhat thinner. My sole disappointment is that the pieces I have just purchased were made in China, and not in the British Potteries. I do not know if this is true of all the modern Blue Italian pieces now available.

The mugs are Chinese and the plates are English, which is why I purchased these items. I grew up using Spode and was totally disappointed when I found out they aren't manufactured 100 percent in The UK.
