bottle causes glue application failure
Meboo✓ Verified PurchaseApril 21, 2017
Plastic bottle breaks, after repeated squeezing, because of its cylindrical shape and because the plastic becomes brittle.
Because bottle breakage is almost certain and happens without warning, a disastrous spill is imminent with this glue.

A far better bottle design is instead oval in shape like this one: Professional Grade Cyanoacrylate (CA) "Super Glue" by Glue Masters - Thick Viscosity Adhesive for Plastic, Wood & DIY Crafts

When did bottle design become rocket science? Shape is not arbitrary!
Five-Star CA Glue
K. M. Krieger✓ Verified PurchaseAugust 19, 2016
- I saw this recommended on a couple of websites for Luthiers ((people who hand-craft guitars and other stringed instruments)). I'm working on making some kalimbas, which are not stringed, but are wooden, and are musical instruments, so there ya go ;)
- The *quality* of this product is high, which is why I gave five stars. It's exactly as described, and seems to be to hold like, er, dare I say "crazy"? LOL! - For better or worse, I also do like that it's a US product and that the company helps our Veterans.
- Interestingly, this does not seem to me to have much of a "smell", which I consider to be a good thing, since it indicates that the glue contains fewer volatile chemicals.
- I do keep it in a tightly-closed jar with 2 dessicant packs ((10 grams total of silicon granules)), but not in the fridge, because I use it too often. It seems to still flow as it ought to, although the tip does clog a bit, probably because I only snipped off a tiny part of the tip so that the opening is *just barely* large enough for me to insert a slender pin. But that's the trade-off when one works on a small scale.
- On the Plus side, all I have to do is give the pin a very slight twist and pull it out, and Presto!, there is glue flow ;)
- I like that this sets rather slowly - it gives me time to make adjustments and be sure things are fitting together as I want them to. I'll eventually try mixing it with powdered substances ((I'll try wood bits first ;) )) for gap-filling and, with luck!, decoration, but I haven't yet gotten around to trying that.

- I *personally* haven't adapted to using this glue, though, so I make sure I have my work surface covered, and sometimes I wear lightweight nitrile gloves. But all in all, this medium-thick consistency is MUCH preferable to me than the super-thin CA glues I've previously bought locally.
Great glue - Bad cap
Schmonko The Clown✓ Verified PurchaseFebruary 19, 2016
This glue is the best super glue I've ever used. Two ounces is a lot of glue for future use. Problem is: the cap doesn't always seal right. Eventually the glue keeps drying in the nozzle - the nozzle has to be clipped shorter so the glue flows again - repeat the above until no nozzle is left. Then you've got glue in the bottle you can't get to. Toss bottle away.

I'm going to purchase another bottle of this stuff and see if I can seal it better when done using it. Maybe I'll find another container to hold the glue I can't get to anymore by cutting the whole top of the bottle off and pouring the glue into another empty container. Not sure I'll be able to find another container that works with a better cap/sealing system to keep the glue from drying out in the spout.

Update: I just found replacement caps. Do a search on "Replacement Adhesive Nozzle and Caps". You get two pairs per order. If you want to save on shipping, simply order 3 so you get a total of 6 and pay the same amount in shipping.
Great stuff!

Like most Satellite City customers, I use this glue for producing a fine finish on woodwork. The glue is great! It produces a tight bond, cures quickly, and is crystal clear. It responds well to the aerosol accelerator that I use, and the adhesive properties aren't affected by the boiled linseed oil that I apply to my work before applying the glue. It sands and polishes to a perfectly clear, glasslike coating.

The bottle seals well, and although I do not use the product but once a week or so, I feel that I will be able to use all of this glue before it sets in the bottle and becomes unusable. This has happened with several other brands. The tip has not once clogged. I wipe it down after use, and it has not ever bonded to the cap. It is all around a great product.

If I had to make a change, I would rename the product with something more intuitive than "Super T." I don't know what the hell that is. The only clue that there is medium CA in this bottle is the tiny words "gap filling" on the label. How about taking the guesswork out by just calling it "medium thickness?"

Odd name aside, the Satellite City glues are the best that I've used--and I've used a lot of different brands. It's not the cheapest brand available, but it's already outlasted the longevity of other brands many times over. If paying a little more means that I don't have to throw half of the product away, then that's an easy call to make.
Good Stuff

While this glue didn't quite serve the purpose I ultimately wanted it to, it certainly was an improvement over what I had been using.

I had been using Gorilla brand superglue to glue the brass tubing to the inside of pen blanks and while it worked it was a tedious chore to use.
It was much too thin and it would run all over the place and get form layers of glue scab on my fingers. Not nice. I got the memo on using disposable gloves but it was still messy and it dried much too quick for my liking.

I went a looking for a better solution and got my hands on a bottle of this stuff. Boy did my quality of life improve! It stays where you put it, has a less than instantaneous open time, more like 10 or so seconds, and when shoved into tight places it doesn't seem to spill out so much which I really do like. It also has much better gap filling properties.

There are two reasons for me not giving it 5 stars.
One, it doesn't have any special method to keep the tip from gluing shut whenever you use it. Currently I have it cut back to a point where it doesn't do this but I preferred the finer tip I had cut into it when it was new. The Gorilla CA glue bottle beats this one in that respect and while it may seem trivial I prefer not to have to fiddle with glue bottles when I could be getting work done.

Second, and more importantly, it isn't quite strong enough for use on a pen blank in my opinion. Most of the time it isn't a problem but I'll always have that one blank that comes unstuck from its tubing, even having roughed that up with coarse abrasive, and I'll have to dismount my work and re-glue things to get them turning properly. I've been using a small drill press for boring holes that doesn't quite make it all the way to the bottom of a blank, so I have to re-drill from the other side introducing a little bit of slop that maybe make the glue less effective at what its doing. I think I'll try quick-set epoxy next. When I fix the situation with the drill press I'll probably come back and give this product another go and see if with accurately drilled holes it fairs better.

Overall, I must say that the Hot Stuff Super T Medium CA Glue has more or less everything I was looking for in a CA glue and I'm satisfied with its performance. If I needed more CA glue I wouldn't hesitate to but this again.
