Assembly issues by mfgr.

From the moment I received this product it acted strange, not strange enough to return it or strange enough to not use it, but something seemed off. Well it's been about two weeks since this item broke on me, its power level would go way down while using and if you looked into the unit while it was on, it had an electrical arc firing inside. I thought something must be stuck inside and tried to dislodge (unplugged it first) it. However the more I tried to dislodge it the worse it got. Being handy, I decided to dissect the unit to find the problem. Upon further looking the unit was assembled incorrectly and nothing was inside causing the arc. I tried to continue to use the product as it would work for about 2 mins before losing power. It finally died two weeks ago.
LIghtweight and drys hair well.

The Andis 1875 Model RC-2 Item #80020, does a good job drying my hair without frizzes. The three heat settings are perfect. The cool shot button only works on high, which is strange. I would think it should be low to set a curl. As such, it is useless for me. I purchased this dryer as it was lighter in weight than others. As I use this dryer at home and not for travel, the retractable cord and folding operation were rarely used. However, before long the retractable cord broke. I would give this 5 stars if the retractable cord didn't break and the cool shot button was a low setting. It does have a 5-year warranty. I will probably ship it to the manufacturer for a fix or replacement.
Broken after 15 months of usage :(

Bought this blow dryer end of August 2016. It was a mediocre hair dryer, nothing really special about it. I was hoping it would be good quality and a bit more reliable since I see these used at many nice hotels I've stayed at, but after a little over a year of usage, it doesn't work anymore. Completely broke last weekend. Poor quality, even for its price, I wouldn't recommend this dryer.
Not a small travel dryer

If you are buying this to use as a travel blow dryer I would look elsewhere. This thing is huge, and weighs as much as a normal blow dryer. I am enclosing a picture of it next to my regular full-size Babyliss blow dryer. To be fair, in the picture I have the optional attachment on it, but if you don't use that the end is so wide you don't get any kind of airflow. The retracting cord works well so far, but there is no way to lock open the collapsing handle, so any kind of vigorous movement makes the top flop down, sometimes pinching your finger in the process. The only reason I gave it two stars is that the ionic portion of the dryer works well, giving you a nice smooth blow dry.
No messy cord!

I love this blow dryer. I didn't buy it for travel; rather I was sick of messy cords in my bathroom. I LOVE the retractable cord! I also like that it folds up and can be stored in the drawer (my old dryer was too big). It has 3 strength settings and a cool button. The cord retracts with the push of a button (be careful it actually pulls it back in quite fast). I am very happy with my purchase.
