When I bought this product it was $6. I bought two of them. I didn't expect terribly much considering the price. They are very easy to read, but they are not terribly accurate. Of course where you put it does make a difference in how well it can read. If you put it in a very windy spot, the temperature will likely read lower than it actually is. Windchill is definitely a factor here. Generally this has a tolerance of 3 to 5°. It is fantastic for a basic idea of the temperature, it is not good for an exact temperature reading.

I used this kind of outdoor thermometer in the 70's and it hasn't changed at all. It's not 100% accurate, but it is easy to adjust, it will hold up well in the desert climate and I can read it through my window, without needing to use binoculars. I may order one or two more. It's more than good enough for telling whether the weather is right for leaving the door open and it is well worth the price.
