I've used these with AMAZING results
Fix-it With Fran✓ Verified PurchaseAugust 16, 2017
These are easy to insert. I usually put them in the ground after a few days of rain.

I live in Louisiana and have several palm trees. When we moved into our home in 2012, the trees were struggling. I've applied these seasonally since and they are lush and flourishing.

These cost about the same as the miracle grow palm granules, but I haven't been able to find these jobes palm stakes in stores.
Nice for Mediterranean Fan and Sago Palms

I have five mature Mediterranean Fan Palms and a fairly large Sago Palm that I feed twice a year. We don't get much rain in the Phoenix area so I probably feed my palms at the wrong time of the year compared to the rest of the country. I wait until we've had a good downpour in July and in December and rush out to drive in the spikes - otherwise the ground is too hard and I don't want to move a hose around to six locations to soften the dirt.
Although my palms are usually a nice dark green I do have one Med Fan that was looking a little on the lighter green side this year and it perked up a few weeks after I fertilized it.
Works great, but need to water a lot to get them to kick in and absorb into the soil well...

Planted some new young palms a few months ago that weren't doing so well, so I decided to try these out. I didn't notice much results at 1st, but I don't think I was watering them enough. Then we got some heavy rain for about a week, and the palms quickly turned around and have been doing well ever since. How do I know it was the spikes? Can't say for certain, but pretty sure, because after the rain, there were big round green and lush circles of grass around each of the spikes I berried that have continued to grow strong, lush, and green still to this day. The palms are still doing great as well.
Use as quickly as possible after opening

I'm not sure if this product is working as it is slow release, but the spikes that I didn't use, which is 3 that I planned to use at end of Summer have all crumbled and broken apart, so I will have to purchase another fertilizer at end of Summer.
NOT FOR USE IN POTTED PALM CONTAINERS

Disappointed that the product description online says nothing about, "never insert spikes closer than 24 inches from tree trunk" as mentioned on the package as soon as it arrived. Had this been disclosed, I would have purchased something else (as my Mediterranean Fan palm is in a very large pot but less that 24 inches in diameter so can't use this. Can't use this.
