Works Well

The media could not be loaded. The sensor works as intended. I supplied it with constant 12V, Ground when IGN Off, and ran the Blue trigger wire to my door circuit. I left the tilt sensitivity and trigger delay at the default settings.
Of note, this sensor isn't branded directed, it is branded VOXX (Digital Tilt Sensor DUB1)

False Alarms ;( But I have a solution :)

False alarms but it was a simple fix
I'm a "retired" stereo/alarm installer. No I didn't get old and crusty, I just changed professions after doing it for 6 years. I do all my own alarm/remote start installs with no issues on my part (ever). This includes my family and close friends. I've had the digital tilt sensor before and its great (proximity sensor not so great. Stay away. Any experienced installer will tell you the same. You guys out there know what I'm talking about). So after getting my latest vehicle and putting latest and greatest DEI (parent company to viper) has to offer, I purchased the tilt sensor and after install everything worked great. The following day however I started getting false triggers and I know it's the tilt sensor because I wired it into the 2ed sensor port in my alarm so when I have a trigger it tells me which sensor was triggered. I have a feeling temperature fluctuations are the cause because I've noticed no false alarms when temp is constant but during a time of day where it goes up or down I get triggers.
I have a replacement on its way. I will update once installed. I'm sure it will be fine. Nothing is perfect.
Edit: I decided to look closer at the unit after removing it. I noticed that the white connecter was able to move around a lot inside the case. It took a minute to come back to me but I realized the case was put together backward. The screw mount hole was on the same end as the connecter. This leads me the believe this unit could be a return and repackage by viper not the seller. I want that last part to be very clear. The package was fully sealed in ani theft plastic.
If you are carful and go after the end. Grab the screw mount and the top of the case and pull. If you did it rite the case will pop open with no marks made on the plastic . Place the bottom of the case on a flat surface and take the pcb and place it inside the bottom of the case and make sure it's snug. Try to move it side to side while pressing down on it. A dab of hot glue between the bottom of the case and pcb or quality adhesive wouldn't be a bad idea. Then press the top back on firmly. Or just put some double stick directly to the bottom of the pcb and mount it without the case. I would recommend everyone check the pcb placement as a precaution. It only takes a few false alarms to begin not to take them seriously and you could ignore your car being broke into or stolen.
This may save a lot of returns for the seller. Good luck guys. Remember with 12v electronics. Stuff can go wrong easily. Don't let it discourage you. Be methodical and triple check everything. Do it rite and you will never need to go back under the dash again in less you want to.
Final note. I'm a little upset with DEI ( viper ) for what seems to be a repackage of a faulty product. Sometimes things don't work on a test bench as they do in the real world. Some people depend on these products more than others and not everyone can afford full coverage insurance. I can only hope the seller has no knowledge of this and is not buying discounted remanufactured products to make a few extra dollars but I have not proof or knowledge of that at all. Manufacturers will take returned products and pull the electronics out of the plastic case and slap a new pretty plastic case on it and send it rite back out the door if a 10 second test shows no faults. We live in an age where fastest and cheapest always wins out over quality and integrity. It's up to us to make sure our products work as advertised. The greater the time after a purchase the harder it is to get compensated when that products proves itself faulty.

Works as described!

My installer had no problem installing and it works great. It is a great addition to my Viper alarm. If someone raises my truck this device let's my alarm know and it sets off my alarm.
Great for Aftermarket Wheels
Thoroughview✓ Verified Purchase•July 17, 2023
Added this tilt sensor to my Viper system as an additional layer of protection for my aftermarket wheels. Works as described, I couldn't be happier. What is great about this is that I frequently park in parking garages where the ground isn't level due to the ramp. This tilt sensor calibrates itself whenever you arm the system as to match whatever angle your car is at. Be advised: the tilt must be altered for a few consecutive seconds in order to trip an alarm. So you either have to be constantly shaking the car or jacking it up to set the alarm off. I no longer have my wheels but I am glad to still have this feature installed.
Amazon.com and Directed Electronics...Two great companies!

First of all let me thank, Amazon.com for providing the lowest price for this device as well as the fastest and easiest place to purchase anything...change their name to "Amazing". Second let me state that I had this device on my previous vehicle...it works so well the alarm sound full mode if you vehicle is towed or jacked...I recently bought a new vehicle and bought another lift sensor from Directed Electronics. An alarm can help in many ways but don't always protect against wheel/rim theft (buyers beware), however, this little inexpensive gadget, cheapest on Amazon.com, will give you peace of mind while you sleep, that you'll have wheels to get to work in the morning...thanks Directed and Amazon...I will continue to spread the word of your great products and services as well as price!!!!
