I'm now loyal to Tung Oil
Weasel✓ Verified Purchase•March 3, 2018
I used this to protect the outsides of a couple cedar beehives I built. They look beautiful! It was easy to apply - much less fussy than stain. I did two coats with 24 hours between each coat. I am a messy person, so I love that this product is non-toxic and easy to clean up. I applied this indoors, as it's too cold in my shop right now for applying the oil, and it didn't stink up the place much at all. I'll edit this review to reflect how the hives hold up over the year. At this point, I'd definitely use this product again.
Beautiful oil finish

Very pleased with this product, I use it on gun stocks. Typically dries within 12 hours in warm, dry conditions, may take 24 hours if the wood is already saturated with oil from previous treatments. Still, this is a very quick drying time compared to raw linseed and even boiled linseed oil at times. Provides a fairly matte finish that accentuates grain nicely. This is quite a viscous product, which I like. Thinner oils can be a bit messy to work with. I saw another user here claimed that the oil affected their stain adversely, I have not experienced this. I was finishing a beech stock which I stained and finished with this oil, I did not have any issues with the oil harming the stain (and beech can be very difficult to stain properly). Attached are examples I have used this product on.
The perfect solution for INDOOR fine Teak furniture.

IMPORTANT: The following comments concern treatment of fine Teak INDOOR furniture.
First, it is important to understand: There is NO SUCH THING as "TEAK OIL" (other than the natural oils that already exist in the teak wood itself).
That is a Marketing name used by some companies for blended products that include volatiles (for quick drying), varnish (for glossy finish) and a small amount of oil.
Factoid: Varnish is why you end up with those white rings from moisture that gets into the varnish.
Do a little internet research and you will find TUNG OIL (from the Tung Nut) is the actual oil in most of the best products sold for treating fine Teak furniture. Hope's is pure Tung Oil.
There are many positives to using 100% Tung Oil but a couple of negatives too.
Positives: Restores original gorgeous hand rubbed oiled finish to fine Teak furniture.
Greatly improves water resistance & stain resistance.
With periodic application (once a year should do it) this a "forever" finish solution.
Is non-toxic so it can be used on food preparation items.
Negatives: 12 hour drying time between coats
May need to thin with Mineral spirits or turpentine to improve penetration (especially on new wood)
Shelf life of remaining product is limited so seal tightly and store in a cool place ... or, at this price, give there rest of the bottle to your friend and buy a fresh bottle next year.
So use 100% Tung oil ... why would you use anything else?

I applied it to a solid walnut mantel and the results were very good. I applied only tung oil with no stain ...

Great Stuff. This was my first time using 100% tung oil and I am very impressed. I applied it to a solid walnut mantel and the results looked great. I applied as directed and the grain of the walnut popped after the first coat. What surprised me most is there is virtually no smell as it cures. Yes it sets me up for periodic maintenance coats but the before and after photo's show the results.
Great product !

This "tung oil" worked great on an wood rifle stock I am restoring. I prepped the wood before applying 3 coats and it came out perfect. Just don't get into any hurry when applying this tung oil it does take @ a half day to properly cure in between coats. The tung oil is golden translucent yellow in color and thick in viscosity. applying this product in thin coats over time makes this product dummy proof.
