To be honest I never installed it. I bought it to replace a previously installed lock on a historical house. The offset turned out to be different and I would've had to make modifications to the door to make it work. I wasn't willing to do that so I returned it. But I did inspect it and it looked adequate for the intended purpose. Not a hi quality piece but sufficient.
