Great for fishing

Probably not many folks get this kind of knife for fishing, but the best possible quality is achieved by bleeding your fish before cleaning. Done properly the fillets come out clean and white, and this kind of processing is the most humane. The benefits of the knife are a double cutting edge, a tang where your hands can't slip to the blade, a nice sheath, and the right size to cover a range of fish. It sharpens easily enough and holds enough edge for a daily cleaning activity. All processing knives should be sharpened after any cleaning, and cut gloves always worn. This low cost solution is a good one for my target application on the water.

2 edged knife with a good point. The blade isn't terribly sharp but it still cuts and the tip will pierce.
The handle is quite ergonomic and it just feels good in the hand. The leather sheath is surprisingly good quality and I'm surpised they didn't go with a plastic sheath.
The only con I can think of is that the outer powder coating really shows off those scum marks, but if you're using this as an inexpensive survival knife or w/e you probably don't care about that.
Overall this is great value for the money

It's a nicely crafted dagger by S&W at a very respectable price. Looks great and came well-sharpened. I thought I was going to have to sharpen, as I usually do, but it surprised me. No need!
Balance seems good for a dagger as well. It comes with a sheaf w/ belt clip (or boot clip, I suppose). Sheaf is a little snug - enough so that the dagger really only goes in one-sided. I suspect it'll loosen up in time.

Having bought hundreds of knives over the years, I really believe this is the best value for a defensive knife to either wear on your belt in your boot or in your car or home. The 5-in double edge blade to me is the most effective knife design for self-defense.
