I bought this to replace the one had for years and liked and this one is even better because it has temp control that my old one did not have. I'm very pleased with it and love the fact that this one actually is well insulated and stays cool on outside unlike almost all of the other brands available now
I just love them. Cool exterior

This is my 2nd fryer by them. I just love them. Cool exterior, easy to use, nice basket, easy to drain. Hard to keep clean but it is a deep fryer.
Not Durable

We received this about a week or so ago and I finally decided to use it today.
The plastic parts are made very thin plastic and did not even hold up to UPS shipping handling.
I would not recommend this product due to it's shabby construction design.

Good Value, superior operation.

This is my second DeLonghi deep fryer. I was very happy with the first one. Unfortunately, the first one stopped working after 10 years of use. This one is far superior to the first one. It has fewer moving parts, it's much easier to clean and I can use it in the house (the old one I only used outside) without the whole house smelling of fish or oil. I'm very happy with this purchase.
Changes the whole deep-fryer dynamic - zero splatter, defer-able clean up, no smoke alarms!

I recently returned to the low carb, high fat approach to eating and was happy to see that I can enjoy deep-fried chicken, fish, shrimp, whatever (in yummy zero-carb lard, no less!). Been using this thing about 3 months now and I still can't believe how much nicer the experience is with the food and the oil sealed up inside the fryer, with just a little steam coming out of the filter. The tedium of having to clean up an oily countertop after each use just vanishes. The smoke alarm triggering and scaring the dogs is a thing of the past. If you don't mind re-using your cooking oil/fat a few times, cleaning can be deferred for literally months. When your food is cooked, just unplug the power cord, close the lid and put the fryer away.
For one or two the size is perfect. Others have said they wished it would get hotter or recover faster but I've had no such issues. Probably depends on how much you're cooking and/or for how many. I'm almost always using it for just one.
After a half dozen uses or so over three months, I cleaned the fryer for the first time today. (You can sorta taste when it's time to freshen the cooking oil/fat.) Getting the stopper out of the drain tube was a hassle but a pair of needle-nose pliers pulled it out easily enough. I positioned the fryer next to the sink, drained the oil into an empty milk jug, then wiped the fryer out with a couple of paper towels. I guess I could have stopped there but it was too easy to just add some hot water and dish detergent and clean it with a dishrag, draining water through the drain tube.
Soaked the removable basket in the sink in hot soapy water for a while, then took a brush to it and it looks like new. Pulled off the removable top, took out the filters (they still look almost new; no replacements needed yet), and washed it in the sink with a brush so it looks like new.
My point is that this whole cleaning routine took about as much time as it used to take me to clean up after one (one!) meal with an old-style deep fryer. It self-contains the post-frying mess you otherwise have to deal with every time you fry. You still have to clean up, but not every time, and this is a whole lot easier when you do get around to it.
