I needed this to accurately locate drilled holes, lots of holes. Luckily, I can dimension my cad drawings in millimeters and easily dial in to .05mm as marked on the dials. I can estimate .01 or .02 in the spaces between the lines. Good quality construction, tight and smooth. This is a small table, right at my limit for the size work I need to do. I couldn't justify the cost for a larger one, at this point, but this one has already paid for itself, many times over.
This is better than using your Dremel as a mill, but not 3x better and that's the price difference

I spent about $400 on my Proxxon setup and, while it works, I don't think it's worth the money. You may or may not need this table. I would say that it buys you a little bit of precision, but not enough to justify the nearly $100 price. The mounting system allows enough deflection that you need to readjust from time to time. The adjustment screws require too much force to turn which then causes it to deflect again. I really wanted to like this whole setup, but it's just too expensive for this many faults. You definitely think you're buying a high quality piece, but in the end it's only average.

Perfect as focusing rail for macro photography
Tom Harnish•February 9, 2016
A jewel, perfect for my macro photography purposes. Allows repeatable movement of 25 microns. Best of all, any slop that develops over time can be removed with adjustment that are there just for that purpose. Comes with a number of nuts, bolts and clamps. Not as big as you might think, and not very heavy so you'll need some way to hold it in place on working area.
Am using it for fine positioning in closeup photography
Amazon Customer•October 7, 2015
Am using it for fine positioning in closeup photography, as suggested by CT digital photography magazine. It is perfect for the task, and I have attached it to a labjack for vertical positioning. Excellent combination.
but this excellent product allows me to accurately place very small holes ...

I have been a model railroader for decades modelling mostly in HO scale. I got bit hard by TT scale which is smaller than HO but larger than N scale. Despite having been invented in the USA TT never caught on here (it did in Germany and the former Soviet Union) so there is very little available for north-american outlined models. I am not a machinst, but this excellent product allows me to accurately place very small holes for the various fittings required on my TT-size rail models for building structures, rolling stock and locomotives. I scratch build or "bash" (modify existing models) models to suit my needs. The Proxxon is critical to my modeling efforts. Without it I would not come anywhere near the quality of model builds I am getting by using this product. It fits directly to my small model-makers drill I bought years ago from Micro-Mark, but rarely used until I got the Proxxon machining table.
The price of this tool is more than reasonable given its quality of construction, accuracy of positioning of parts, and overall general utility.
