I have used this product in the past under a different name; Dura-Cube Red-Out. I LOVED it but when my dealer went out of business I could no longer find it locally. No other salt I tried was as high of a quality or fought the rust as efficiently. I could feel and smell the difference in our water. Pretty significant cuz I am sensitive to smell and my skin was not as clean/soft feeling. Finally I called the company that makes Dura-Cube, Cargill. They informed me that this product, Diamond-Crystal Iron Fighter is the exact same formula as the Dura Cube Red Out, but this is the one that is sold in retail stores such as Ace Hardware etc. Well, lo and behold, my little ol' town in northern Michigan has an Ace and he sells it there! Yay. Point being, this seems the best rust removing, quality made softener salt I have ever used. It ain't cheap, but I guess in this case, the old adage still proves true.

Excellent product that handles iron in the water and stops the staining/obstruction of appliance. No scale showing up on my new stainless steel appliances. We are on a wall with lots of calcium and some iron. I can tell the product is working. Not an expensive monthly cost to prevent damage to piping and appliances. Shipping is high, but if you can't lug 40lb bags, it solves the problem.
