An Old Workhorse Now Retired With My Last XP System

I got Roxio Easy Media Creator Suite 10 in 2008 when I was still running Windows XP. I just retired my last Windows XP system and while burning some of the data to DVD I was remind of this venerable version of Creator. It served me pretty well but with quirks for almost 10 years; I have been using various versions of Roxio NXT on newer systems and I don't think they are an overall improvement in reliability or intuitive user interface. Using Creator 10 again reminded me of that.
I just got Roxio Creator NXT 5 and I'm hopeful that Roxio will have a winner with that version. In some ways I pine for the simplicity of Creator 10. The things I've used it for it's worked pretty well and once I got used to it's quirks. It got the job done on Windows XP. I'm giving this retiring workhorse 4 stars. If you are buying today, obviously get a current version unless you are still running XP or Vista for some good reason.

This is the worst piece of junk i have ever bought in my life. I bought this software trusting the brand name "Roxio" which i had a good previous experience with, when the CD burning software used to come along with the laptops. To begin with the installation take a hell lot of time. At one point while installing i thought the installation halted, but it was freaking taking hell long enough to install. Finally when it got installed successfully the application launch is so slow. I have freaking no idea which programming language this piece of junk is written with, so SLOW operation.
Inspite of all this frustration with using the software the biggest disappointment came when i finally tried to burn a DVD. This piece of junk just bailed out with an error for which there is no fix in this entire internet. I want to return this junk but i am not sure if it is possible. I will still give it a try. I hope i get my money back. Never ever buy this junk if you care about your hard earned money.

I have been using Roxio for quite some time now, basically only the distribution software that comes with a new system. I wanted to upgrade from Roxio Easy Media Creator Suite 9, having had some problems on Windows 7. I saw a used copy of this coming to $17 including shipping. Could not and did not go wrong with that. It installed with no difficulties on Windows 7 and has given me no problems running there.
However, I got more than I bargained for. This is a complete media software package. All I normally do is rip & burn CDs. There is stuff here I have never used, and some of it seems like bloatware. It seems to do too much and wants to be the default software for everything and all file types. But, I guess it was worth the few bucks to hold me over until I get something better!

Timely received and with a price lower than I coud find elswhere. It works great and replaced a newer version. The newer version also worked great except when converting MP4 video to DVD format. When attempting conversion the program would stop working more often than not. This old version does not have that issue with a problem free conversion. All other features work as well. However, I find the video editing function cumberson to work with. This feature on Nero is much easier to work with. On the other hand I especially like the program for converting wave to MP3. Have not been able to find any other competor program with this feature which works as well including DC7 and Nero. It is installed on a system using 64 bit version of windows vista ultimate. I have used seller before, will do so again, and would recommend to a freind.
