Works on Kashmir White granite
Claire✓ Verified Purchase•August 25, 2023
This will seal Kashmir White Granite when nothing else will. I've tried a number of "good" sealants on our bathroom counters, yet the counters continued to stain with anything that wasn't pure water hitting them. I was almost to the point of pulling the counters in favor of quartz, but searched many stone forums and read reviews here on this product. Other reviewers here proclaimed success and their pictures showed they had this particular stone too. So I decided one last try was in order.
I bought a stone poultice and went to the lengthy trouble of removing all the soap and lotion stains first (after using denatured alcohol to remove previous sealers), then treated the granite THREE times with this 511 Porous Plus sealer. It took three tries to get water to bead up. It was the first time water had ever beaded up on that stone! I poured some in a plastic cup and brushed it on with an old paint brush, waited the recommended time (maybe a little more), wiped up the excess with paper towels, and buffed dry with an old washcloth.
As another reviewer mentioned, the sealer does bring out pale mica flecks inherent to this stone. 511 PP seems to not only soak into the stone, but also leaves a clear barrier on top. To my eyes this gives the stone more dimension, sort of like what happens when you put a worn stone into water to bring out its beauty. Use this one, not the regular 511 sealer available in your local big box hardware store.
Anyway, it's been a year since this adventure and I'm back buying another bottle to retreat my counters. This will be a yearly to-do in this house. The water is still beading up in most places, but there's no way I want to go through the hassle of my initial poultice procedure. We were out of that bathroom for a couple weeks while that was going on. BTW, if you have a granite choice, NEVER choose this particular granite. It's basically super-compressed limestone and as naturally porous as your concrete garage floor. Evidently with granite, the darker the better for resistance to staining.

I was hesitant to buy this product because of the issues people said they had and also the complaints about the smell being horrible~ Well, I purchased it anyway for my natural River stone on my shower floor and niches~ I am so thankful that I did!!! It was easy to apply, I used a paint brush even though I did purchase the applicator, and the smell was minimal, actually no big deal, I've smelt worse in a beauty salons~ After two applications (following directions) and letting it cure for 72 hours (my Choice) it was amazing at repelling and beading the water up, so, no water penetrated my stone"¦ I love this stuff!!!
STRONGLY RECOMMEND WEARING A MASK!!! Water beads up perfectly!!!

2/2022: my shower and bathroom are still well sealed. I still haven't gotten around to the kitchen grout yet but I will definitely be using this product.
The water still beads up on the bathroom grouts.
2019: I bought a pint to use for my shower tile, floor in the bathroom, and my kitchen backsplash and window sills.
I finally got around to the shower yesterday. I used a foam craft brush to apply to sealant. I don't recommend that form of application because it caused a lot of foaming. However, since I didn't have anything else to use I continued with it.
I applied the sealant as per the directions. Let it sit about 3 - 5 minutes and wiped it off the tiles. I only needed to seal the grout as the tiles didn't need to be sealed. After I sealed the grout in the walls I sealed the floor grout. I have a pebbled floor and again, just needed to seal the grout.
After I completed the floor and wiped up the excess I waited about 2 hours and repeated the process.
The smell didn't bother me until I sat in the living room after completing the task. I got a sore throat and my nose became plugged. I closed the bathroom door and lit a candle in the living room. That took away the odor.
This morning I couldn't smell it at all. I dripped a little water on the shower floor and wall and it beaded up perfectly.
I had to order a quart more so I can do the remaining grout areas. As soon as it arrives I'll finish the bathroom floor, kitchen backsplash and window sills.
Ok, it's been five days since I sealed my shower and I STRONGLY RECOMMEND TO WEAR A MASK. I have had a sore throat and nasal passages since about 6 hours after using the product. Now, that's completely my fault because I read the directions and they clearly say to wear a mask and open windows and doors and use the fan if you have one.
I sealed the bathroom floor grout yesterday. I really like how the water beads up now!
Next will be the kitchen grout!
I highly recommend this product. Other than needing a face mask and opening windows and turning on the fan, it's a wonderful product.

I have used it to seal the ceramic tiles in my kitchen as well as natural stone. It made all the difference in the ability to keep the kitchen floors clean. They stayed cleaner longer and were easier to wash. It kept much of the dirt out of the tiny nooks and crannies, or made it easier to remove.
Protecting kitchen backsplash with AirStone

So we are 3 days into having this done, so far i'm very happy with the results.
We installed Airstone in our kitchen as the backsplash and it was recommended by Airstone that customers should put a sealant on the stones to prevent damage from food stains.
So after poking around Lowes & Home Depot, I sought to the web and this product came up on many searches, so we primed it!
My only mistake was ordering the Qt size, i could have got the pint based on how much we used and I put 3 coats on! However we have some to spare and we also have some stones left, so either i'm keeping it as a backup to repair something or perhaps I will accent something else in the kitchen.
For the application part, we did not purchase the Mira Brush, instead we used a standard paint brush as the surface of our stones were not flat and I didn't see how the Mira Brush could have gotten into the imperfections of the stones. If I had to change how I applied it, I should have got an empty clean spray bottle and use the combination of spraying the sealant on while brushing it into the nooks & cranny's!
I did do a test on each of the color stones we had on the wall to see how well it protected and how much it altered the appearance. While wet the stone looks darker but as the solution dries the stone returns to normal. After 2 coats on half of the stone, I was able to see beading with water vs the stone absorbing the water. I then took ketchup and let it sit for about 30 secs. Though I was able to clean it up (even on the non protected side) the sealant side was alot easier to clean.
I saw on other reviews that people felt this was too expensive... even if you did the stone work yourself, spending this extra money upfront can save you a ton of headache trying to replace a single stone because of staining. I'm italian and cook alot of pasta and sauce, so i'm confident that this will help with my sauce not sticking to the wall
PS - it does have a fume smell when applying so make sure you do it during a day that you can crack open the windows and get a good breeze flowing through. The smell wears away after a couple of days
