This stand was easy to assemble, and exactly what I was looking for. BUT the cross bar for the base is warped, making the whole thing wobble quite a bit. I found a few shims, though, and glued them to the high side.

I also improved the clamp with some strips of craft foam sheet to help it grab better.

This just arrived. Started to assemble, I came to the last peices (the clamp part) and I don't have the correct peices!!! The holes that are supposed to be there for the screws, aren't!! And I can tell it was used because there is some writing from an ink pen on one of the peices, and now I can see why it was returned, because the clamp parts are missing the needed screw holes!! Ridiculous! So rather than waste my time by unassembling it and returning and waiting around for another one, because it's needed, I'm going to have to drill my own holes in! Oh and I guess the other reviews about it being wobbly are right, it has a slight wobble and doesn't seem super sturdy. Hopefully when I get it all together it actually works out. But because of the peices being wrong and it is obviously used (I don't really have a problem with used, but full price especially when there's ink writing that's clearly not supposed to be there and there's wrong peices) I'm giving it a two star. It was relatively easy to assemble by following the pictured directions.

For the price you can't beat it. I now have 2 and keep thinking about getting another. It is so convenient to use and is simple to set up. When not in use is easily set out of the way,even with project still clamped stand. There are a lot of needlework stands available but all come a bit too expensive for my budget.

Very pleased with this purchase, made working on a large cross stitching project very easy and it was great not to be left with crimped hoop marks on my stitched area.

This seems to be a well made, sturdy stand. I'm using it for a needlepoint project. My current project is on a 19x19 stretcher frame and is held securely between the two bars on the stand. My only complaint about this stand is that there is no easy and quick way to flip the stretcher frame over to access the back of the canvas. Doing small detailed areas on the canvas requires me to go to the back often and I'm finding it easier to just remove the frame from the stand and work without it. It probably will be easier to use this stand with a project where you don't have multiple changes in small areas and lots of details because you definitely need to check the back of the canvas often. So, if you're using a large stretcher frame it's easier to just rest it on a table so that you can easily flip it to the back when necessary. I think it will really depend on the type of project you are working on, so I'd still recommend this stand.
UPDATE:
After using this frame for a while now I will give it 5 stars instead of my initial 4. I was not liking the fact that I could not quickly flip my stretcher frame to the back side. I've found that it is very easy to place my stretcher frame into the clamp without securing the tightening screw. That way I can easily and quickly remove the frame and flip it over when I need to get to the back area without releasing and re-tightening the screws. Much faster. The frame stays steady even though it's not clamped in as I work and I prefer to keep my feet on top of the frame bottom to prevent it from sliding.
