Love this except for the split rod that your cloth goes in. Do yourself a favor & get the Velcro & attach it to the tightening rods. I think this would be much easier. I ended up breaking the rod anyway cause it's so tight & while I was trying to work my project to the left it snapped. There just wasn't enough give. I wonder if soaking them in water 1st would have made it better. I love it cause I'm not as young as I once was & my eyes are giving me trouble & I decided to try 32 ct evenweave for this cross stitch. Working on this frame allows me to move the piece around to accommodate my challenges. It makes the stitches look SO MUCH NEATER, 1/4 STITCHES ARE EXACT CAUSE YOU WORK OVER 2 squares. So will I use this frame again, I hope so if my doctor finds meds that stop my essential tremors so I can cross stitch again.
Worth the trouble.

Really like the frame but like others, I had to replace the adjustment knobs with wing nuts. The threaded sleeves inside the knobs are inserted too deeply so that they cannot be threaded onto the rods tightly. A couple worked okay but the rest didn't. It would have helped to have the threaded rods longer so as to be able to catch into the sleeves sufficiently enough. Otherwise, the frame is great, solidly built, very pretty, and gives a lot of room for the work. I like the velcro strips to attach to, they work very well although I don't know yet where to get more of the sticky velcro tape if it wears out over time, even though I've used it twice now. I think the frame is worth the nuisance of replacing the knobs which the maker needs to fix.
Best-Made embroidery frame

This unit went together like a dream. Very easy to assemble and the wood is smooth to the touch, no extra sanding needed. Also very solid for holding embroidery panel in place. Much tighter fit than with a hoop.
Just what I was looking for

I spent months looking for a lap stand. I decided on this one as the price was right and it went with my scroll rods. I work on a reclining love seat and the legs are very adjustable to help compensate for sitting crooked in the seat. I have arthritis in my hands and knees. There is no pressure put on either part..which is fabulous. It is easy to put together and you can easily change projects when they are on scroll rods (which mine are). My only issue with it, is that the upper side knobs do not stay tight at all. Every time I have to flip to the back when I start or stop a thread, they get quite loose. The wooden blocks that are supposedly there to help it turn without loosening the knobs, don't seem to work as the knobs turn anyway. After a bit, the legs start moving and everything gets wonky. I have to tighten the side knobs every time I flip my work. Considering the pluses otherwise, I can deal with the loose knobs.
Very Well Made Product, User Friendly

This lap/table frame is good, solid, sturdy wood --- nothing flimsy about this. I've been looking for a frame for when I have a needlework project on scroll rods that are too unwieldy to handle and this is great. It straddles my lap when I am in a chair or sitting on my bed so there is no weight on any part of my body. This is important for me because I have badly arthritic knees and the lap frame I used to use (The Elan by Artisan Design) was made so that the heavy oak base laid on my lap, causing painful pressure on my upper legs/knees.
The frame is super simple to assemble, and I love how both the vertical legs of the frame AND the included extender bars for the scroll rods have holes bored all along the length making it highly adaptable to any size scroll rods the stitcher is using. This set up is best for projects on scroll rods 18" and wider (my current project is on 22" wide scroll rods). Because of the way you can position your scroll rods on the vertical legs of this frame set, you can also easily set it atop a table -- this product is very stable.
Bottom line is that I'm very happy not only with this product, but that I was able to get it through Amazon at a terrific price. I saw this same frame set offered through a needlework mail order catalog at twice the price (probably the MSRP) and to add insult to injury, it was out of stock for at least another month. I can't find where to leave feedback on the seller, but I do want to say that I received this in a very timely manner and it was very well packed for shipping -- arrived in perfect condition.
