Cute but smaller than I anticipated.

I normally do cross stitch and found needlepoint to be okay. The stamped on pattern wasn't the easiest thing to get used to. I found the stamped on pattern colors to be fuzzy in certain areas, for my aged eyes. Also, I still can't figure out how to blend the stitches, especially when it will have a back stitched outline.

The patterns are cute as a button. The finished stockings are quite a bit smaller than I wanted. Santa couldn't put much into them. I selected my own backs, hanging loop and put in liners. The felt was adequate but I did not feel it would stand the test of time. My sons cross stitch stockings are 30+ years old, much larger and still look fabulous. Picture shows size differences.

I was able to complete the penguin stocking in less than 3 weeks. It felt like I was at it 24/7 but I had a pre-Thanksgiving deadline line to allow time for it to be sewn into a stocking before Xmas.

I would use this brand again. I will try to enlarge the next one on my own and use my same modifications to finish it.

One other thing, you can't run to the store to match their thread. You must call them to get additional thread. I know this because I needed more of a blue/black color for back stitching and couldn't find it.
Super Cute Snow Bears Stocking!

I just finished stitching this stocking and it turned out adorable! It took me about 3 1/2 months working on it for about 2 hours, most days. The pattern is very easy to navigate. I had more than enough of all the colors except the light silvery blue that is used for the trees and snowflakes. The only thing that I didn't like about it was that the large white areas on top and bottom were marked to be half stitches using 4 strands of white. In the picture the white areas look very white and full. When I did it with half stitches it did not look this way. The Aida cloth it comes with is light blue and so doing the half stitches in white didn't fill it in all the way. The blue showed through a lot. So it just didn't look as full (like snow) as in the picture. So I took it out and used 3 strands of white and did cross stitches instead of half stitches and it looked much better! Yes, it was more work but it looked so much better, like it looks in the picture. It is a very, very cute stocking and it really wasn't that hard. It seems like the white areas are very time consuming but you don't have to switch colors often and its just straight white. So I put a movie on and just stitched. You hardly have to pay attention to it. The hardest part was the shadows under the bears because many of the colors are very close and you have to switch threads often. The white sections really weren't that bad. This was my first large project and it wasn't that bad.
Dimensions kits are very nice

Dimensions needlepoint kits come with everything you need. They have enough yarn and are fun to work
Great value

I bought this kit to make a stocking for a future daughter in law. The kit comes with ample thread, a needle and felt for a backing. The directions are straightforward and the canvas is pretty easy to read (there are a couple of colors which are hard to distinguish). I made this in about a week and it's darling. You won't find a better price.
Cute but probably buy other fabric for backing

I'm not a big cross-stitcher and this was my first stocking after doing a stamped baby blanket. This was very challenging for me and took me over 2 years on and off to complete. Overall, I had plenty of thread and material, and it turned out great despite many mistakes which most people will never see. However, I did purchase additional iron-on material for covering the stitching in the back which I find necessary. I wish I had bought a higher quality red fabric for the back instead of using the felt that was included. For the amount of time I spent on this project I want to make sure it lasts and the felt seems very weak. The hanger also barely attached to the felt as both are such loose material. I hope it stays attached to the front of the stocking when gifts are inside. Overall, I would definitely buy another kit but only use the front and thread included and buy my own fabric for the back to increase the quality.
