Exactly as described. However, the weight makes one carefully put and remove from meat without the edges scratching the cooking vessel.
Good product

It will only fit in a 12" pan, like all other weights I checked out. It is very sturdy.
I use it to make smash burgers. The surface is not smooth but has a grid of squares which are low in height. They help it not to stick to the ground meat if one applies a drop of oil to the surface.
The wooden handle can be unscrewed for seasoning it.

It's a little small

It's smaller than it looks, works great, but does not cover whole bacon slices until they're almost done cooking. Does not cover more than 2 MAYBE 3 pieces of smaller bacon. Needs to be wider and longer, and with a higher/taller handle - does not make it easy to grab when bacon grease is splattering all around and the handle itself is too narrow.
BIG... but heavy duty and worth the price.

Bigger than I thought it would be. Too big for my cast iron skillet. Looks good and feels good and serves its purpose. Want to make more use of it when I get an outdoor grill.
I bought 3 of these, one was great, one was lousy, one was alright

I ordered this to go with the Lodge 20" griddle. The dimensions on this seemed like it would be a perfect fit for that griddle and it was. The first one I received was great. It seemed well constructed and was just the right length to cover the width of the griddle without hitting the outside lip. I liked it so much I decided that I wanted to have a pair and ordered another one. The second one I received was awful. The handle was loose and would spin about 1/4" in either direction. Worse, the plate area was visibly warped and could not sit flat. If you set it on a flat surface, it would rock around and the concave bow in the middle was significant. I weighed the two before sending the bad one back and the bad one was about 4 oz lighter.
I decided I would try and order another and the third one was okay. It wasn't as good as the first one, it was slightly warped and 5 oz lighter than the first one but nothing bad. I would have been pretty happy with the last one if the first one wasn't better. It was good enough to keep though.
Obviously they have some quality control issues. I think this works really well with the Lodge 20" griddle but you may have to do a return to get a decent one.
