Perfect for coins and tiny print on medicine bottles

Bought for my aging eyesight to view coins, and also nice to use to be able to read the fine print on things like medicine bottles, where I have a little difficulty in reading nowadays. Perfect size to carry in my pocket and the cover works to protect the lens from scratches. Also use it while visiting antique stores to see those small details. Definitely recommend this if you find your eyesight not what it used to be, especially if you're a coin collector.

I need reading glasses, to the point that I have about 15 pairs stashed everywhere, but since I'm farsighted I don't need glasses for driving, etc. So too often I find myself at a store (that I have driven to without glasses), and even though I have some in my car I absent-mindedly go into the store without my glasses and when it comes time to read the fine print on a box, lable (including that pesky small faint % alcohol content on wine bottle labels) I was at a loss. So I bought this little gem (and it is little, maybe 1 1/2" in diameter) to keep in my pocket all the time and it has proved to be a lifesaver. The little plastic case it folds into is padded, which is great, and it slides in and out on a hinge very easily (there's an indentation in the case for you to "grab" the magnifier. it is 8X power, plenty powerful to read any small print. if you, like me, are farsighted, need reading glasses, and somewhat forgetful about having them with you all the time - get this. You'll be glad you did.

I am legally blind so always have one in my pocket to read my phone. The lens is glass so it doesn't scratch easily but it will. Outside if loss, the biggest reason I replace them is the little piece if material that connects the protective pieces splits pretty easily the way I carry them so I replace them often so hence the title.... but they serve my purpose pretty well, ease-of-use only gets three stars because they are extremely stiff when new and hard to open

This is basically what I expected from a pocket magnifier.
Far surpasses some of the plastic lenses I've seen. I got it to carry in my pocket to read small print on pkgs. or cans when shopping. Some restaurant menus are a little too small or the restaurant to dark for the menu to be clear to these eyes. Does fine for this. That being said,I do wish the lens was a little larger. I wonder about the 8x magnification. I have some that are near the same,but only claim 2-4x. Also the case currently takes two hands to open, that will probably loosen with time. All in all, well worth the cost.
