The MyStudio MS20 Professional Tabletop Photo Studio didn't disappoint at all
Kelly H.July 25, 2016
The MyStudio MS20 Professional Tabletop Photo Studio didn't disappoint at all. I was searching for a photo studio that is big enough to take photos of my products but at the same time not too large because I have a limited amount of space around the house. This is the perfect size if you want to take photos of smaller things. The dimension is 12x20x20 and it will fit nicely on any small table. Although on the pricier end, the pictures came out great. I had to still do some light photo editing to brighten the background but then again I will need some time to go over all the kinks so maybe I'll add an additional lamp in the future. The only downside is the price. Nonetheless, you get what you pay for.
Fantastic Product with Unparalleled Customer Service

What a great product with super customer service! It was easy to set up and is very sturdy...much better than conventional light boxes I've used in the past that cost me much, much more.
Although this kit provides you everything you need to take high quality photos, I would still recommend purchasing some additional lighting; an AL1 kit would be great but an AL2 kit would be optimal. Seems you can never get enough light!
Had a small issue with some clips on the light cover and the company quickly, without any hesitation whatsoever, replaced it. I was surprised at the excellent and rapid personal customer service. I don't think anyone will regret purchasing this product.
MS20 is perfect for us!

As a person that is required to take excellent macro photos for my business on a budget, we went through all the DIY solutions for a tabletop photo studio with very poor results. Tissue paper ripping, stability issues, wrinkled backdrop etc...

We purchased the MS20 in hopes to remedy these problems and it has paid off in spades! The environment is now clean and wrinkle free, much tougher than before, and the lighting is excellent. We are able to take high quality photos for our business now that were previously unobtainable with our super budget setup.

Initially had some minor issues with setup but as soon as I stopped being a typical guy trying to do it without directions and watched the included DVD I was able to figure everything out quickly and get it together.

Pros: Excellent build quality.
Packaging and shipping were great as Prime usually is.
Directions were easy to follow, (once used)

Cons: Wish the light bar was a little wider base so that it would pass completely over the studio wall to shoot in any direction.
Not really a con but a suggestion.

All told, this is an excellent mini studio that will help take your photos to the next level if used.
Can't wait to show everybody my results

I have had to send off my products to get photographed for a while and I invested in the MS20 to try and do it myself. If I manage to pull off a successful shoot by myself, this product would have paid for itself. Installation went quickly, even for a person like me that is not too technically gifted. I tried taking a few photos already and I think they should work for my future products. I use Photoshop so any light irregularities can still be enhanced. I think the MS20 gives you a very good basis to work from. I remember my first photos and all the different techniques that I employed to get the perfect picture. I looked for videos on Youtube to see how I could make my own inexpensive photo booth with dismal results. It's just not worth the time and effort. Rather buy a professional kit and be professional.

As soon as I have taken a few photos I will update this review with the results. I give this product 5 stars because the product came as advertised and the seller is very professional and helpful with their inserts.
Lightweight, portable, and makes product photography far too easy (even for me)

I mounted a Samsung NX3000 on a cheap tripod and took some test shots. Instantly I knew the difference a cyclowhatever (fancy term for this thing) could make. The bar light and top reflector and the bounce cards really make things "pop." The level of expertise required to use this thing is pretty much non-existent. My cat could take pictures with auto-focus and a MyStudio MS20. It provides you with a perfect blank whitespace to shoot on and the shadows are just right. I did a LOT of product photography research (I looked at a ton of catalogs and ads in magazines over my life) before getting this (I am "old" now), and I know what a crappy photo looks like; as I am pretty good at those. This is not a miracle cure for stupidity, but it is a great tool to help you fake up good-looking shots if you can point and shoot.

It comes with a DVD that works on your computer or TV and the guy on it is pretty cool. He is easy going and friendly - in other words it is an easy video to watch and you don't have some smarmy pitch-man or failed actor selling you on whatever it is. This guy looks like he actually owns the company or something. You can believe him, and that made it easy to follow his instructions to set up the light fixture; and the tips on how to shoot good pictures were supremely helpful. Seriously, Once I had it set up I just stared at it for a while. Then I watched the videos that came on the DVD and I realized that it really isn't that hard.

Now a note to any professional product photographer (including the $3,000 per project one who turned me down). There is no way I will ever replace you. You probably have one of these in your studio anyway. It is a professional-level device. That said, I just saved myself a TON of money and time getting these cards presentable to the world. As this is a non-profit website I do not expect to reshoot these, but it is nice to know that I *can* move ahead with this project and get my information out to the world and have the option of making enough money to pay someone a fat stack of Benjamins to, later on. But this thing (the MyStudio cyclorama or whatever the fancy term is) allowed me to up my game and keep moving forward. That is worth more than money. That is the difference between thinking about something and doing it; an after 30+ years in business I appreciate that more than cash. So, if you are on the fence about getting this I say "yes, it works. It looks like what it does in the photos; and it turns out there are several free helpful videos online before you buy to see how it works. If having this thing will move your business forward you need to just get it and get busy. It is made of plastic. It will scratch if you abuse it. but it is light, and portable, and it really works." Anyway, thanks for reading. I hope this helps.
