Seem too thin but

I wasn't sure if these were going to be as good as I thought. They arrived well packaged and that was a good sign. But as I removed then from the protective packaging and held them in my hand, i thought no way are these going to protect my ears. Took them to the indoor firing range the next day, and brought along some cheap yellow foam ear inserts, just in case. I was wrong about these. They really surpressed the sound from the gun blasts, even from other shooters in the range. Except for the guy with the Desert Eagle hand cannon, I could feel the pressure in my entire body when that shooter was firing. But these ear protectors really work and continued to unload the Sig with no issues of any uncomfortable loud gun noise. Though they are not going to cut out the noise 100%, they provided the necessary ear protection needed.
Perfect for listening to a media player in loud traffic

If you're looking for the best sound-proofing you can get, this is not it. But they are not intended to be that. They are intended to be light, comfortable, and low profile, while doing a decent job of noise-reduction in an average environment.

As for the low-profile, they excel. With the thin ear pads and black color, they are about as unobtrusive as can be made. They have a comfortable spring, fitting snugly without being too tight.

I use them when I go out for a walk. I like to listen to audio books while out for a walk but the traffic is so loud, I have to turn up the volume of the player to hear it. Traffic is very annoying, especially when an ambulance goes by, which is all too frequent. If I turn my player up loud enough to drown out traffic, what kind of damage am I doing to my ears?

These muffs provide the perfect solution. They fit comfortably over my earphones and mask the traffic enough that I can hear the soft-spoken readers. I can set the volume at the same level as when I am at home and still hear every word. I can hear the traffic well enough that cars don't sneak up on me in places where I must walk in the street but sirens are effectively toned down.

I have another pair of muffs for serious sound reduction but for traffic and audio books, these are just the ticket.
So good I bought them again!

I bought these earmuffs for use at work. I worked in a loud lab in a small room where dB levels during full operation exceeded well over 100 for a sustained amount of time. The earmuffs are are super light and very low profile. This is exactly what I was going of. I had to wear glasses while wearing the earmuffs as well and, while that did reduce how effective the noise reduction was, it was still overall sufficient to protect my hearing. I wore these earmuffs for 4 years every day in a disgusting lab and even after all that time, they still have only minor wear. None of the padding has cracked (merely faded and become slightly depressed). After 4 years I thought it was time for an upgrade and repurchased this same pair of earmuffs. For a less that $25 investment you get a durable, well made, lightweight, and low profile earmuff, while still offering a more than adequate amount of noise reduction.

My son has sensory issues, and needs noise-cancelling headphones to block out sound that is too overwhelming. He wears these headphones at school, daycare, or when we are at public events that can get loud. He needs to regulate his sensory intake and these headphones seal out the noise very well. They are also snug. He likes that feeling. You still know that something is going on around you and people can get your attention, but the sound protection is very good. I would recommend these headphones to parents if they have a child with sensory issues or autism.
VERY poor craftsmanship!

VERY poor craftsmanship!!

I work at an airport and they give you 3M Peltor Optime 98 Earmuff headgear as part of the uniform but they are kinda bulky and they sweat a LOT! Otherwise they work well. I wanted something a lil more thin because I have to stick my head in the landing gear EVERY DAY and the 3M's are always banging against the folding gear housing.

I came to trusty Amazon- saw the review(s) on these and thought I'd give them a whirl!
2 days in and they feel apart!! Com on...are you serious 2 DAYS!?!?!?!

I would avoid if I were you. The little bit of adhesive wouldn't hold flies to sticky paper as you can see in the pics!
