Good antenna for the $30.00 no complaints from me
Ken Kramer•August 8, 2017
It's a $30.00 outdoor antenna, to me it was worth the $30.00 without an outdoor antenna I received maybe 4-5 stations and that was at best and only close by local stations at that. I live in the hills in N.E. Pa. and reception sucks even on a good day. I bought this and it arrived with no packing damage, installed it on a 10' 1" dia. electrical conduit pipe from Lowe's ($3.50) and a cheepo side mount for outside from Lowe's ($4.95) and used a compass, to point it SSE and grounded the antenna. Now the reception did improve a great deal I am pulling in stations from Allentown, Pa. area 35+ miles from my location, running this thru a Sansui TU4400 tuner and the single strength meter peaks at 6, the stations from the Allentown area single strength is between 3/5 so how can I complain....Thank You
Generally Pleased

This antenna replaces an old slightly-enhanced dipole. Its location is about 3 feet higher and outside (as opposed to in). It has been adjusted (rotated) for quieting on one distant station (the only station I ever listen to) that I had been otherwise unable to reliably pull in. Possibly, a more directional unit would function marginally better, but I'm quite pleased at this point.
Low-cost Effective Option for Distant FM Signals

After researching numerous indoor, in-attic and roof antennas, I settled on the HD-6010 HD from Winegard, a long-recognized manufacturer of antennae and related items, as the best for my situation. I'm surrounded by mountains that restrict line-of-sight reception of all but local stations by small indoor antennae. I wanted to receive stations from a major metropolitan market abut 60 miles distant and this antenna does just that. In full disclosure, I installed an amplifier to enhance the signal as well (Monoprice 110014 PREMIUM 3-Way Coax Cable Splitter F-Type Screw for Video VCR Cable TV Antenna (110014)). The pair works great for my location.
I built a DIY that performs the same

I don't usually rate things lower, but I am not impressed with this antenna. Maybe on a fringe area it would perform better. What I did is strip the insulation and jacket off some RG6 Coax cable to where I had about 10 inches of center conductor (stinger) showing. I mounted the cable with the center conductor pointing straight up. (to achieve omin direction) This actually worked a little bit better than the antenna on some stations, others the antenna worked about the same. Some frequencies I think the antenna did better, but not all. Again, if you are in a fringe area maybe it will work well for you. I live about 30 miles north of Houston and my coax DIY does great in pulling in over 40 stations. For reference I have a Yamaha R-N301 2 channel receiver.
Great combination of price, function and simplicity.

I needed something better than the simple di-pole wire antenna that came with my receiver and this antenna fit my needs perfectly. It is designed specifically for FM and It pulls in FM stations that I did not expect to be able to get. In addition, it is smaller and less obtrusive than a full TV antenna so I don't mind having it on my roof.
Since I already had coax cable to my roof and the antenna is small and omni-directional, Installation was almost trivial. Furthermore, there are no active components so I expect it will have a *long* service free life.
If you are in an urban or semi urban area and need an FM antenna, this is probably the right antenna for you.
The negative: I only gave it 4 stars because there was a shipping hick-up of some kind and I did not get the antenna for several days after the expected date. I don't know if the problem was with the vendor, Amazon or the shipping company.
