The elastic "phone cord"-style cable works well; it allows us to clip to my son's belt and he can still bring the chewy up to his mouth, but it doesn't hang onto the ground when he's seated. In our case the "aquarium tubing" style chewy itself does not work well (my son doesn't like it), but if you hook the ring around the Chubuddy strap we can put in a soft chewy, which he prefers. It's a little ridiculous to have to MacGuyver 3 different products together but whatever works :)

We needed something for a child who doesn't tolerate having something on his neck. This works perfectly. No saliva slung around the room either (this happened with other stretchy chewelery)

Product is Not What It Used to Be

We have been ordering these for years, but they must have changed the way that this product is made because each ChewEase now seems to last only a few days for my daughter. The metal ring separates from the blue plastic cord, leaving her to either try to swallow the blue cord or engage again in self injury. These had been such a durable toy for her in the past and provided her with safe and appropriate stim. Looks like it is time to find a better made toy for her!
Chewing on this instead of clothes

This helps my son to stop chewing on his clothes. He was destroying the sleeves on all of his sweaters with his chewing. We started keeping things like this around for him to chew on. His little brother loves it too. I was hoping he'd be able to take it to school, but he likes to play with the clip.
