It states this phone has an on-off switch. It does not. It has a high-low ringer switch but not on-off which is annoying because this phone is on a line that will not be answered (my Life Alert connection). Will replace this phone as soon as possible!

Color aside, this is a nice, sturdy phone(despite a couple of month's use I haven't encountered the scuffing problem reported by the other reviewer). That said, their are a few drawbacks:

There is no reset button on the handset. You have to hang up the receiver and pick it back up to make a second call -- an unnecessary hassle if you want to make several calls, and you and the handset have moved a bit away from the base.

You have to be careful to lift the receiver straight up when you answer it == it's very sensitive, and if you make even the slightest horizontal pull you will disconnect the call.

Despite the claim it can work as a wall phone, it really won't -- the receiver will only stay put in the desk phone mode.

Despite the drawbacks -- and the omission of a reset button is a real problem -- this phone is significantly better than most corded phones available today.

I bought this phone because the GE phones I had were getting poor reception & static. I wanted something that was like the old-fashioned trimline phones I used to have. This one is a bit bulkier and lighter in weight than those were, but it works just fine. I like the light up keypad and the large numbers. There is no static, and the reception is much better than the phone it replaced. And, the cord matches the phone! I bought a blue one for one room and a green one for another room. Oddly, even though they're the same brand and from the same company, the packaging was completely different and the keypads are a little different. Definitely worth it if you're looking for a corded phone.

My mother requested a phone like the one she had for the last 20 years so I went straight to good old Amazon.com. Sure enough there it was. This phone has a nice ring tone and lighted easy to see buttons on it. Everything you would expect from an old school closed circuit land line.

I really like the dark blue color, is a solid well made phone , works well .good all around phone
