How wonderful this is!
rebecca✓ Verified PurchaseOctober 26, 2023
I purchased this phone for a loved one who suffers from dementia and tremors. Portable phones were no longer an option because they were always being misplaced or thrown away. And She was having a hard time answering the phone because she couldn't find the right button/s to hit.

So what I needed was: a phone that would never leave it's place (corded to base), and something with larger buttons.... I didn't know exactly how to address the button thing, because I knew she would not be able to press 7-10 correct digits.
Then I found this phone... how wonderful! There are 9 empty picture buttons (where you place a picture of a loved one/etc,) and then set the picture button to their number.

Placing the pictures is easy, as long as you have pictures small enough.... time to get the picture tubs out! Lol (who uses albums)
To set specific number into those 9 picture buttons is really easy. The directions give clear and easy steps to set it up.
There is also a switch on the side of the base that allows you to switch the volume up... which works out perfectly for those who don't hear well/have hearing aids.
Anyway I am really grateful to have found this phone. It has made it possible for her to answer the phone... and better yet, she can dial up to 9 different people/places with the touch of one button.

Delivery was fast, and cost is fair for what the product does.
When someone has dementia they start to lose things. They lose their memory, and ability to do things of course... but they lose other things too: their car keys are gone, their friends stop coming by... and some, like my loved one, lose the ability to even pick up a phone and have a conversation. They get lonely. And I had been struggling, trying to figure out how to make things better.

The company that made this phone actually brought something back to her. And it means more to us than this amazon review could ever express. It's just really great to know that their are companies selling products like this... bringing back a part of regular life, to those who lose something everyday.
My thanks go out to the company, the seller, and anyone else involved in creating this product and getting it out there.
Works well. Easy to program and use.

I got this for my elderly, demented parents who are living in an assisted living facility. As their cognitive abilities have declined, they can no longer remember how to dial a number and this phone seemed like a solution to that issue.

The Clarity phone is easy to program. I like the nine programmable buttons that don't require a combination of button presses to utilize. All my parents need to do is lift the handset and push one of the nine buttons to call. Although you can put a photo on the paper overlay, I just put the name of the person assigned to the button. There is a plastic overlay to keep the paper in place, but it is very thin, flimsy, and comes loose with minimal effort. I had to tape the overlay in place to keep it from coming off.

The sound quality is good and there is a sliding volume adjuster as well as a Boost function that gets it REALLY loud if necessary. The Boost function can be utilized with a push button on the front, or it can be left on with a slider switch on the back.

The ringer tone has an adjustment to raise or lower its pitch. There is a red light in front of the phone which flashes when the phone rings. The phone has a spot for a 9V battery which helps to boost the brightness of the light, but otherwise it is not necessary for the phone to operate.

There are a few things that I would have liked on the phone that are not present. It would be helpful if the designer had implemented a way to disable the program button or hidden it away from view. My dad is always fiddling with things, and I can see him reprogramming the buttons to random numbers. There is also no caller ID which helps my parents to know who is calling them.

Overall, this phone works as advertised and is a useful tool for the cognitively impaired.
My Mother Loves It!

I bought this phone for my 83 year old mother who has Alzheimer's. She was often having trouble calling people and always complaining that something was wrong with her phones (she even called the police once because her phone "wasn't working". ) In looking at her call history on her phone account, I could clearly see that she was misdialing-- adding digits, omitting digits, wrong area code, etc. This phone has solved that problem and she loves the one touch calling! She is also hard of hearing so the volume on this phone is great for her. I was concerned because several reviewers said the phone did not hold the numbers in memory. I kept the phone at my house for a week and disconnected it every day and reconnected it to test the memory. The first time I did, this, I pressed a programmed number and nothing happened, so I reprogrammed the numbers again. I never had the problem again, and in retrospect, I think that I did not press the button correctly when I first tested it--if you don't press right in the center, it could be it will not register. She has been using the phone two weeks now and (knock on wood!) no problems! She always tells me she love the new phone.
Nice phone addressing both low vision and hearing impairment!
S. McCallister✓ Verified PurchaseJuly 29, 2023
This is probably the 4th or 5th phone purchased for elderly relatives over the last ten years. We always needed big buttons (for low vision) and also amplified (for hard of hearing.) Most of the phones did one of these well but not the other. This one hits the sweet spot for both low vision and hearing impaired. The picture dialing is a nice feature, too, since most stored numbers require either a combination of buttons or a small button labelled only with a number. Here you print a photo (about 1" x 1 1/4", remove the plastic cover sheet, and place the photo over the button you want to use. Programming numbers is straight forward: press the Program button, dial the number, press Program again and then press the photo you want to assign the number to... that's it. The phone itself feels very sturdy, unlike some of the big button phones we've bought, and Clarity according to the box is manufactured by Plantronics, which is a well-known supplier of phone headsets and accessories. The phone doesn't require a power brick, but it does use a single 9V battery for driving the light / amplifier. Easily the best of this type of phone I've seen -- I hope it really lasts!
Simplicity for Seniors

Ease of use was the goal to allow the user to reach out and make phone calls. The buttons are large and easy to push. The one touch feature is a life saver. The sound quality is a little bit scratchy, but it's the best option I have found so far.
