It's super easy to apply, the results last, it's just great stuff!

After 10 years this is my third design of Artscape window film at my home. It absolutely holds up, I've had it in a master bathroom suite, in a walk-in closet window and now on two garage door window sets. Either in direct sunlight or in high moisture areas, it stays put. It's super easy to cut into shape, easy to apply and once there, no additional maintenance is required. It's super nice that Artscape now ships a 4" squeegee with each roll of film from Amazon. All you need is clean windows, some water and the film cut to size. I like that the "backing" of the film is paperish and easy to write on. I used a fresh blade in a box cutter on a plywood slab to size my pieces.
It was pretty easy to apply by following the enclosed instructions

I bought a roll of the Rice Paper film to do a window 22 x 22 inches in size. It was pretty easy to apply by following the enclosed instructions. So far, it has stayed on the window. It provides privacy but lets light thru. I am happy with the result.

Only complaint (and "complaint" is too strong a word) is that there is no grid marking on the paper backing. That makes it a bit harder to measure and cut a straight line for the size you need. I think the paper backing should be printed with horizontal and vertical grid lines every 5 millimetres or so.
Beautiful and functional

The hardest part is cutting the it to fit your panes--you really have to measure twice, and a paper cutter helps. Getting it on is fairly simple, though I recommend a real squeegee, not the piece of plastic they provide. As far as appearance, it looks just like rice paper and provides both privacy and light. I've used it in my dining room (to block the view of my air conditioner's compressor) and in my kitchen, to keep people from seeing in.
I love this stuff

I love this stuff, this is my second pattern. It works great, I've had the other one for over a year in a steamy bathroom with no signs of peeling or wear.
I have two bits of advise when applying:
1) Be sure not to accidentally crease the film as you peel off the backing, creases don't come out and lead to bubbles.
2) Use a LOT of water. The wetter the window is when you apply, the easier it is to move around and get the bubbles out. If you do this, it should be completely flat against the window and stay there.
Different product from what you get at Home Depot?
The consulAugust 29, 2014
We bought two of these films at Home Depot. They worked really well - pretty easy to install, and they look good. We decided to buy the next one from Amazon, for convenience, but it did not adhere to the window. (It started peeling off within a day or two.) We returned it for a replacement. Same problem, even though we're applying it to exactly the same kind of window that gets teh same amount of sun, etc.

This appears to be the same product we bought at Home Depot (same brand, size, design, etc.), but it was packaged differently (brown cardboard box rather than clear plastic). So I can only assume it is a different product or batch. We'll be returning to Home Depot for our next purchase.
