Gap makes alignment very difficult

There is a gap under the plastic alignment guide. At least three or four pieces of paper can slip underneath. If you're willing to spend a lot of time eyeballing the alignment, it cuts well. So, while it's not *completely* useless, it is not at all what I expected and wanted when I ordered it.
