Coleman Stove Stinks!
Billie BlackburnJuly 3, 2016
Received this gift a year ago. Hadn't had opportunity to use it until July 4th. Terrible experience; Right side igniter doesn't work and the controls don't control the levels of the flame, its all or nothing. I intended on return this defective stove only to find out today that the return time expired July 3rd. Want a Cadillac paid for a Cadillac and got a Junker.

these camp stoves are great! I use them in my chili cook offs and one bottle lasts well over 5 hours am medium heat. I now own two and they are perfect. they hold two 12 inch skillets or two 8 quart pots. the temp is easy to control and with the sides up they become wind resistant. really enjoy these stoves

This was a gift for my husband. He loves it! We've used it 3 times since I bought it and he is very happy. It is great that the sides really do block the wind.
Better than expected upgrade

First one received had to be returned for loose handle (could not figure out how to get to the screw to tighten it so just returned the unit). Received the second stove just in time for camping trip and very glad I did. I have been using an older 2 burner camping stove, circa late 1980's that had been getting finicky when adjusting valves- flame was either full blast or blown out. This new stove has a good fuel adjustment range that's easy to control, the flames are hot and strong- wont blow out easily. 3 Burners do a mean job of quickly cooking whatever I throw on them. While of course bigger than the old two burner, it isn't too overwhelming. Though tight, I can fit my 10" pan, 10" pot, and coffee kettle on at the same time making breakfast a breeze. Next purchase will definitely be the griddle.
Pretty good stove, so far.

Stove works! Boiled a large pot of soup quickly enough. Definitely tough to control a low flame.

Bought the matching griddle from Coleman. The griddle fits perfectly on top and inside the stove when you pack it away. Very nice.

With the middle burner, the griddle does smooth out the hot spots. It's not bad, but the griddle is not thick enough to make hot spots disappear.

But the stove's quality control is not perfect.

Unfortunately, the cover does not stay clipped down. When I am standing up the stove to put it in the bag (bought separately from Coleman - the Eventemp bag fits this stove perfectly) it will pop open on its own, dumping everything. This is even without the griddle added.

Of course, when setting up the stove, the cover won't open because of some binding on the left front side. It takes some extra squeezing and pulling to open it up. The cover bends fairly easily and doesn't feel strong, but the base feels solid. The metal burners quickly changed color, they must have gotten pretty hot.

Although the Coleman Pack-able kitchen's stove shelf is large enough for this stove, the stove's feet don't line up with the metal grill. It's nearly impossible to use without some fix. Will probably cut a piece of plywood to place on top of the shelf to make this work.
