I discovered there are many versions of "Blue Willow" china out there, but I'm SO happy I went with the Churchill line. The color is a gorgeous NAVY blue, which makes it more elegant than some of the brighter, cobalt patterns, at least to me anyway. They also have a lovely glaze that keeps them from staining and have a nice "weight" to them when you pick them up.

The only slight disappointment I have with the 20-piece set is the size of the side plates and bowls. Due to their diminutive size, they're more suitable for serving breads and desserts than soups or salads, so you'll need to expand your collection if you intend to serve courses.

No matter. I love this set so much I've already ordered the coffee mugs and am looking at acquiring the soup bowls and the tea pot next. Be warned: once you get started, you'll become a Churchill Queen's Blue Willow addict!

I did not like the original 6 oz cups that came with my set of Churchill Blue Willow dishes, so I ordered these 11 oz cups and they are just perfect! Beautiful quality and feel in your hand, and just the right size for a cup tea or coffee. Quality is excellent!

I bought these to replace some broken ones. they arrived quickly, and 5 of them are great. The 6th one is a bit lopsided, and sits with part of the edge sticking beyond the others and doesn't "nest' right.

Blue Willow is a classic pattern. Churchill's Blue Willow is a richer, darker blue than Johnson Brothers. Churchill earthenware is made in England. Where my dinnerware is made is important to me. I was surprise to lean that Wedgewood China now is made in Indonesia! Churchill's earthenware is beautiful and durable. The only set of dishes that I have that does not get chipped when washed in the dishwasher.

Perfect color and nice thickness. Dishwasher safe. Happy I finally bought these, I had wanted for a while. Packaging was a bit surprising considering they are glass plates but luckily, none of mine broke.
