Well worth it

Great product! I used this on a back country hunting trip. My hunting buddy has the Vario model which we have used for years. Both are fantastic. I like the quick connect options, size and weight of this model. Pump speed is fine, but the Vario is twice as fast. If you have more than 2 people in your party or will be drinking a lot of water, recommend the Vario. If it is just you or you and a friend, this model is perfect and smaller/lighter than the Vario. Recommend both, great products!

This filter works great! It is easy to pump and you can pump a lot of water very quickly. Unfortunately I can not get it to hook up to our bladders. We have 4 different off brand bladders (not CamelBak) that it does not attach to. This is especially difficult on backpacking trips when moving the bladder in and out of the pack is a real pain. We have tried looking for different adaptors with no luck.

My dad had one of these and the bottom part of the base broke where it connects to the piece that goes into the water. All he did was connect the hose and it shattered. It was bizarre. I was skeptical to get one after that, but mine held up to several uses over a week. We'll see if it keeps up...I'll update it if that changes. Hopefully Katadyn will send him a new one.
Don't Risk It. You've been warned.

Mine broke after two backpacking trips. This was a total surprise considering the great reviews it had when I went to purchase last year. When I went online to get the customer service number, I noticed that there was one reviewer who had the exact same experience. Unfortunately, his broke about the same time mine broke, so I didn't get the warning. I'm doing everyone a favor and warning you: DON"T BUY THIS PRODUCT. There is a serious flaw with this product. This reviewer sums it up perfectly: https://www.amazon.com/gp/review/R1I06TIDR2W7CY?ref_=glimp_1rv_cl

I've been following up with Katadyn customer service to get a replacement part. It's been six weeks and there has been no resolution.
Leaky inlet port
CHARDY✓ Verified PurchaseMarch 4, 2016
I read the reviews talking about a flimsy inlet port but decided to take a chance. Right out of the box the inlet port has a leak in it. As a result, as I am pumping water it squirts out the side of the pump & gets everywhere. Also, air bubbles get sucked into the system & are pumped through the filter into my Camelbak. There is no good way for me to fix it myself because the crack is buried way down in a small crevice that I cannot get to. I will be contacting Katadyn to see if they will send me a replacement.

I absolutely love the quick disconnect system which allows me to connect it to my Camelbak hose & fill it up that way.
