I only installed about 150 sq ft of oak flooring but this worked great with 2" DeWalt L cleats.
I had my pancake compressor set @ 90 psi and it was setting the cleats perfectly with hardly any splitting.
A friend of mine bought a used Freeman nailer when he was building his house.
I helped him install over 1500 sq ft and had maybe two jams with that one which is why I sought out a Freeman nailer to buy for myself.
It comes in a nice quality case that gives you some extra storage including a space that fits a box of cleats perfectly.
I found the wooden handle on the mallet to be comfortable.
Once you get a feel for the nailer, you can lay the flooring fairly quick, especially if you have a helper laying the boards out in front of you.
It's definitely a plus to have the option of using three different fasteners.
I'd definitely purchase this again.

I bout this baby in 2009. Since then, I've installed around 6,000 sq.ft. of hardwood (all 3/4") including Acacia (Tobacco Road handscraped from lumber-liquidators) & very dense Brazilian cherry.

I've also lent it to my general contractor friend, who has easily installed another 10,000 sq. ft. of various hardwood, including various species of oak, hickory, and walnut.

I've never had the gun jam, and had maybe 10 misfires where the L cleat doesn't go all the way in. All I've done is oil it through the air inlet with 5 drops before every use. For the money, this gun has been amazing. A few weeks ago (Nov. 2016), I installed hardwood in another room in m house, about 300 sq. ft. and the gun worked perfectly. It's been beaten, abused, dropped, and still works as well as the first time I used it.

So, Basically I bought this nailer off of everyone's reviews. Basically this nailer was awesome, or it immediately screwed up. There was no in between ...... I am a Carpenter by trade. My nailer I bought worked awesome! I had a few cleats that miss fired, but honestly, might of been operater error? I will say that managing your air pressure is key....... I was blowing the tongues out for a few boards before I dialed in the air pressure.

I have used this flooring nailer to install hardware flooring in my kitchen and in the adjacent hallway. Comparing to using drill/hammer/nail-set to nail down a flooring board, this flooring nail works great: It is way faster, and it makes much less mistake than my way of using drill/hammer/nail-set. Therefore, it works faster and works better.

When you use it to nail a floor board, the floor plank will be forced into close contact with the floor board behind it; hence, closing up any gap. This also makes the result looks much better than otherwise.

I don't have a problem using this flooring nailer as long as I remember to do these: (1) Hold down the flooring nailer tight to the floor, otherwise, the recoil can cause the nail not to set all the way. (2) Hit it with authority; otherwise, the nail won't go all the way in. If there is not enough space to hit it well, I moved the obstacle away to make room. If I cannot move the obstacle away, I will have to hold the mallet closer to the weighted end and hit with it in high speed to compensate for the lack of leverage.

Please also note that it doesn't need a lot of air to operate. I simply use a 1-hot-dog-style 1/2-hp 1-gallon air compressor to operate this flooring nailer. Of course, sometime I need to wait for the air compressor to catch up. But honestly the air compressor waits for me more than I wait for the air compressor because I simply don't work fast enough. Sorry if you want to find an excuse to upgrade to a bigger air compressor, it is not the one.

The case that comes with it has plenty of room inside. I can pack everything inside including one box of flooring nails, a flooring nail set, and some miscellaneous stuff that I don't remember what they are now -- in addition to the flooring nailer itself.

Finally, this flooring nailer is cheap as comparing to other named brand. Therefore, it is cheap and good -- just what I like the most.

I just installed my first hardwood flooring in my spare bedroom with this nailer. Worth every penny, never had a jam in the 150sq ft room. My only recommendation is to retro fit a plastic grocery bag around the nailer and tape it all the way around the spot you hammer down on because if not you will have a light mist of oil when you are close to any wall. Guess I had to learn this tid bit the hard way!
