Surprisingly, this actually works

I was hesitant to try this at first, but I was desperate to get rid of these little birds that kept trying to build a nest in my gazebo. It's been a few days now and the birds don't even fly over my yard anymore. I did read in other reviews to change the position now and then. I hope I haven't spoken too soon, but it's really working. I also chose this hawk over the owls since owls are nighttime birds and the hawk is a more likely threat to the birds and their nest.
If anything changes, I will update my review.

I love birds, but hate the mess they make on ...

I only wish I had purchased Bird B Gone Hawk sooner. I have not had barn swallows build their mud nest under our porches since I've set them out.I can't think of how many things I have tried to keep birds from nesting under our porches. I love birds, but hate the mess they make on the porches from the mud nest and all the droppings. The Bird B Gone Hawk was cheap and does a great job. All I have to do know to keep my porches clean is just move the hawk around about once a week! Yeah, no more washing the porch, trying to keep nests knocked down before they are built or eggs laid! Thank you Bird B Gone!
Worked for me!

I have woodpeckers that attack my siding - and I had to fix another hole. This plastic model has a quarter-sized hole in the bottom, which worked great for mounting on an 10 ft rebar pole. I just inserted the pole and planted it into the ground a few feet in front of the wall under attack.
I also added a length of the reflective woodpecker repellent tape as a scarf, so the ends flapped in the wind. Very fashionable hawk.
The woodpeckers have not returned (yet). I don't know if it scared them or they were laughing, but at least no holes so far ( after 3 months).

Bird B Gone? Birds Still Here.

Product looks 100% like the one advertised. I put it underneath where the birds have been building their nests. I came out the next day and there are more bird nests and poop all over the Bird B Gone. So not only were the birds not scared, but they've been using the plastic hawk for target practice. BOMBS AWAY! As far as looks and quality I got what I paid for, but it doesn't appear the birds "in this neck of the woods" are deterred by it.
Not effective AT ALL at first, but I have since gotten it to work.

I just bought this because I have having issues with blue jays harassing my cats outside the windows and making ruckus.
I put this thing outside on a chair and the freaking blue jays were sitting next to it and on top of it (inches away on the arm and on top!!
EDIT: Instead of tossing this, I thought perhaps the positioning was an issue. You don't see hawks sitting on a lawn chair in a patio (though I still find it unacceptable that bluejays were landing 2 or 3 inches from it on the same chair to hassle my cats inside that were going nuts).
So I removed the red plug at its base and mounted it on top of a stick that was in place to keep a tree from leaning. I also bought the "Gardeneer By Dalen Holographic Scare Tape Reflective Scarecrow Ribbon" from Amazon and added a couple of foot long strips to the top of each of its wings.
I've since seen the blue-jay fly by but not land in my yard a few times and not at all the past couple of days. Same with the squirrel that was eating my mulberries and breaking its smaller branches. So going to change this from 1 star to 4.
