The handle broke off on one side after two uses - one of the screws heads broke off leaving the rest of the screw inside the wooden handle. Waste of money.

Poor quality component, would not have bought it if sight seen first. Gave it three stars only because it was relatively inexpensive compared to the others, and in this case one gets what they pay for. Wasn't all that flat, bowed up in the middle, thus the arms were leaning out and the handle didn't fit right, the assembler had difficulty getting the little screws, with only about 1/4" in the wood, to thread and hold. Had two separate holes in each end as the screws never really took a purchase in the wood handle. Pretty disappointed, but will make it work. Get some longer screws and handle it with care.

Great press for bacon and burgers. I did season it even though it came pre seasoned. I removed the handle, heated my grill up to about 800 degrees, and put the press on the grill. Once it was screaming hot, I carefully brushed it with canola oil, let it bake for a few minutes, and repeated several times. After this, I turned the grill off and let it cool down. Once cold, I reinstalled the handle and put it to use.
This press is great for about 3 strips of bacon. Any more than that and they stick out the sides. I might also look for a round one to fit my cast iron pan.

Sturdy cast iron material. This is definitely worth the money if you are particular about your bacon and burgers. The handle is a little wobbly but I can look past that for the price. I will advice, if you're planning on using this in a skillet on a stovetop, you will have to use a pretty large pan.

Works perfectly for bacon and boneless skinless chicken breasts. I haven't tried it for hamburgers or sausage but I imagine it will work just fine. It is quite heavy and comes preseasoned to an acceptable level, I haven't had any issues with sticking.
