Beautiful workmanship and design. Works remarkably well.

These are so much better than traditional 1:1 friction pegs! They have a feature similar to friction pegs, in that you can push in while you turn, to increase friction. It works, but in my opinion, an improvement would be a small micro-friction adjust knob or screw on the end of each peg that could 'tune' each peg to the stress of the string it works with.
Workmanship is flawless, the design is very ingenious and functional, but in my mind could be improved.
Absolute garbage, avoid!

I wish we had paid attention to the other one star review earlier. We experienced the same difficulty. Installation requires permanent modifications to the instrument and the tuners felt cheap with lots of gear slop on the inside. Straight out of the package the tuners were jumping back and forth and all four of them had varying degrees of slop. Not being familiar with the product we went ahead with the installation but none of the tuners hold tension, not even briefly, before going flat. You can watch them slip backwards without even playing the cello. They look like a nice product but are completely junk on the inside. Now the old tuners don't fit and we're in a world of hurt. I can't believe how expensive these are for such a garbage product.
Great pegs

Well made cello pegs. 4 to 1 reduction.
Installation is not difficult.
You can trim the ends or just leave them long ...not too unattractive.
Prompt delivery.
We had to return our order as in this particular case the size was not correct.
However, we would recommend them highly to anyone.
The quality is there.
Great Product!! Sear joy to use!!!

Having arthritis in both hands these pegs make the job of tuning the instrument easy!!! And they don't slip!! The force requried to turn them is a fraction of what was necessary without them when you had to pull out the peg gently to release, and then twist and push in rather hard to set it. Absolutely marellous!!! No longer even use the microtuners!!
Buy Pegheds Instead!

The quality is okay. However, I am familiar with Pegheds and when you compare these Knilling version of them, they fall short. My recommendation is just go ahead and pay a little extra and buy Pegheds instead, you won't regret it.
