I have a dear audiophile friend, who is also a station engineer at a local community radio station in my city and he said that the Polk brand is a great low-price/high quality sounding speaker. I agree.
They have a nice full sound without having any echo or tinny sound like some cheaper speakers do. They were easy to set up - as you don't need any special things other than a good gauged speaker wire. I'm really happy with them.

Great speakers for the price, but need calibration to sound good for music

These are fantastic speakers for the price, but they did sound pretty bad out of the box for music.
You can definitely get them to sound like expensive monitors with some calibration with Room EQ Wizard, but without any adjustments they're not very musical sounding.
I was concerned about the frequency response only going down to 60Hz, but they sound great. No complaints at all, they sound very natural and full.
Overall I would recommend these speakers for PC use so you can adjust the EQ and get a better sound because they don't sound very good out of the box.

Great sound quality. I used these for a rental condo that I have and the sound is great. They have great volume and sound quality. I am thinking that I need these for my house!

No complaints. We use these as our surround speakers in our 5.1 setup. Very clear sound. My wife still occasionally get surprised and asks "what's that" when the movie has a sudden surround effect :)
