Great device to collect the numbers called - bought 3 to place in various places in the house. As others have stated, wish it had a lighted display so it could be seen at night or in dim lighting. Works well when series or parallel connected. Lightweight a bit of a disadvantage as it moves around too easily.

This is such an improvement over its predecessor, a Radio Shack product. I never could get the RS caller ID to successfully call back a number, but it's a cinch with the Bellsouth. Also, the Bellsouth lets me know when there's a message on the phone that I would ordinarily not know was there until I picked up the handset. This is a great feature, as I make as few outgoing calls as humanly possible, so a message could age considerably before I knew about it with the old Radio Shack caller ID.

Been using it for about 10 days now and works well. However, despite the claims on the box, it only holds 40 numbers in memory. The delete button does not bulk erase all the numbers as claimed in the instructions (the manual says to hold down the erase button for 6 seconds to clear all numbers in memory, but that does not work). Otherwise, good product for the money.

Maybe I'm getting old, but I just want to see the name and number when the phone is ringing. All the other controls and buttons just get in the way so if you press one by accident, good luck finding your way back. Oh, and the red light flashes constantly and I have no idea how to make it stop doing that. (I AM getting old.)
It works. Simple to use.

This is the second Bellsouth Caller ID unit we have had. The first one got fried in an electrical storm, along with several other electronic devices; that was not the fault of the unit. This new one works great. It is simple to use and understand. (We have a separate answering machine which plugs into this unit.
