Great case.

Like a lot of reviewers, finding a good case without laying hands on is really tough. My cello instructor advised me to go by weight and price so that's why I chose the Bam. It's light but very protective. It has 8 latches and they are easy to line up - once one is, they all are. It seems to be very well made, I'm happy! You get what you pay for!
Bam Carbon Fiber Cello Case and Flight Case
Mark Barnard•August 25, 2013
I bought the Bam Carbon Fiber cello case with the flight case for my son in 2009 and he has flown 25-30 times with the cello as baggage without any problems. We say a few "Hail Mary's" every time TSA takes it away, but it always comes out just fine on the other end. And to our surprise, it has come out a few times on the regular baggage conveyor belt rather than oversize. My son just made a trip to Germany with the cello on Delta and everything was great. Since the cello, carbon fiber case and flight case only weight 37 lbs, the the airlines allow it to fly at the regular baggage fee. Certainly, if you have an instrument that is irreplaceable, you have no choice but to keep it by your side, but a student or nice professional instrument that is fully-insured can travel just fine in the Bam cello and flight case. Ours has certainly paid for itself.
Bam Classic Cello Case
gret•October 2, 2012
When I got the BAM cello case, it was damaged. One of the latches was broken and the quality was cheap. The case would not stand up and that is why I sent it back. I purchased a Century cello case which is less expensive and is light, sturdy and much better quality.
not what expected but nice
J. Colasurdo•June 28, 2011
My cellist and I were unable to view this case locally anywhere before we purchased and ordered it sight unseen. Figuring many of you are in that same predicament we will offer up our opinion since we were not 100% sold on it upon arrival however...we ultimately decided to keep it.
Bam classic cello case first off what we expected and got: latches work nicely only takes a minute to line up then shuts quickly, 5 pin hinges on the back, nice pockets on the interior. cello does not move at all once secured- case even rolled over during transport and cello was in tune at destination. Out side nice textured finish, bold bright color. Shoulder straps were average.
What we expected but it was NOT is this case is NOT rigid when upright and open loading and unloading cello could only be done from lying down position. It would NOT be safe to load this case with the cello standing up in it. However, after a trip to the local music store to view a $1,300 Eastman case and a $400 Tonareli case (only 2 in stock) we compared the quality and features and decided the Bam 1. had more quality features, 2. didn't smell as chemical in the interior, 3. had the plus of being water tight, and so we could over look its un-rigid faults.
