Perfect! I decided that picking up trash around the woods and pond in my neighborhood would be one of my random acts of kindness. This stick helps a great deal. It keeps my feet out of the muck. I don't risk cutting myself on a jagged piece of metal or getting stung by a fire ant. It really works great!

This picker is great! It picks up all kinds of stuff from pieces of cardboard and aluminum cans to plastic bottles and more. It's lightweight and sturdy.
The game I play is to see how much I can spear before I empty those freeway treasures into my bag.

My dog is a backyard scavenger who will eat anything that falls from a tree. The tastiest treats for him are big leathery leaves from an oak tree and weird flowers off a giant ornamental bush, and this stick works great to pick up both of those things. I've used it on smaller leaves and actual trash as well, but those require more precision. The stuff stays on the spike until I pull it off and it does hold a lot of leaves.

My one star off is for the "safety cover" that comes on the spike. It's a tiny piece of stiff plastic. I've poked myself a couple of times getting it back on, and I've misplaced it numerous times. I want the stick to stay sharp, so I'm looking for an alternative material to create my own cover---maybe the weird foam florists use?

I don't often write reviews. I bought this product to make it easy to pick up magnolia leaves in my yard. This chore was very tiresome, having to bend over and pick them up, as the wind scattered them far and wide. A rake was little help because the large size and stiffness of the leaves was not a good match for a rake. However they were a great match for this Trash Picker. The Picker skewers the leaves easily and they do not fall off, so that I can gather a stack of leaves in a very short time and easily discharge them to a lawn bag. Picking up magnolia leaves is now quick and easy.
The product is well made and should last for years.

This was a like a gift from heaven to me. I suffer with severe back pain, and a few very messy people who come to my house think nothing of dumping their coke cans, fast food wrappers, etc. out their car window onto my grass. Bending and picking it all up was killing my back, but not anymore. Also, I saw this same product at a few other places for considerably more than from Amazon plus free shipping. So I snatched this up! Great Buy!!!!!!
