These work with my Honeywell HCM-6009
Tom✓ Verified PurchaseJanuary 14, 2017
These work with my Honeywell HCM-6009 Cool Moisture Console Humidifier.

I started buying these when the price of the Honeywell version radically increased in price.

I checked the Honeywell price today, and notice they dramatically dropped the price (I'm guessing because everyone started buying other filters).

If the Honeywell filter is under $15 I'll buy that, because the filter is better. If it is over $15 I'll buy this one, because this one is good enough.
This is an okay replacement filter for my Honeywell evaporative humidifier

This is an okay replacement filter for my Honeywell evaporative humidifier. It is sturdier than the official replacement filter by Kaz. An added bonus is the price. I bought a pack of 6 filters, which brought the cost per filter down to a little over $8, as opposed to paying almost twice as much for individual filters by other manufacturers. However, there are a few negative issues with this filter. After an initial soaking in cold water to saturate the filter, the water turned yellow, leading me to believe that there is some type of glue or chemical that is leaching into the water. Also, this filter doesn't seem to absorb the water from the bottom of the humidifier as well as the official replacement filter by Kaz. I have to keep inverting this filter at least twice a day to make sure I am actually putting moisture into the air. Regardless, the filter only lasts about 3 weeks before starting to turn funky. I have yet to find a filter for my Honeywell evaporative humidifier that is effective and lasts more than 3 weeks.
These filters are OK. We go through about three ...

These filters are OK. We go through about three of them a winter, based on past experience. That is about one a month for the times we are running the Honeywell Humidifier here 24/7.

I have only had one "genuine" Honeywell filter..which came with the unit. It did seem to last a little longer than these replacements, but it was selling for twice the price (when available) on Amazon, so I can buy these "BestAir" replacements and they do seem to work as well for our needs.
those are the best, they last twice if not 3x as longer

I stopped buying these because I found another brand that will sell the same filters cheaper. If you can find the filter with the metal looking piece in the middle of the filter, those are the best, they last twice if not 3x as longer. ALWAYS flip the filters periodically and never let them go dry, they will last longer.
Perfict fit and same features as the more expensive OEM model

As a savvy Amazon shopper like you, I'm always looking to save a few bucks where I can. I live in Minnesota (go figure by my reviewer name) and our winters are COLD and DRY! I have a large humidifier to take the edge off and was in the market for a new refill. The brand name refills cost about $5 more than this one. Bring on the aftermarket! This refill by RPS Products was exactly what I was looking for. It has an OEM fit, a nearly identical layering system that has an outer layer which traps large debris from the intake fan, an anti-microbial metallic layer and an inner wicking layer. The replacement fit right in and worked like a champ.

You should consider replacing your filters on a 6 month basis so the anti-microbial properties are working at their best. These filters do expire when in use and during unusual or heavy operating conditions, you may even want to be on a 3-4 month interval. Mold, mildew and bacteria can build up on these filters if they are not inspected and changed out when needed. However, with the price of these vs the OEM, changing them out doesn't have to break the bank. I hope you found my review helpful and if so, please hit the yes button below.
